🧠 DID YOU KNOW? Some children can hear sounds adults literally don’t notice.
A classroom may seem perfectly quiet to us, yet for some children, everyday sounds can feel overwhelming — pencil scratching, chairs scraping, school bells, squeaky shoes, several people talking at once, or even the hum of electrical equipment.
👂 Their hearing may be completely normal. The challenge can be in how their brain processes and filters sensory information.
When the brain can't easily filter out background sounds, it can make it harder to:
✨ Focus on the teacher
✨ Complete work
✨ Stay regulated
And here's the important part:
The goal isn't always to make the child “tolerate” the noise. Sometimes, the better solution is to change the environment. 💗
Small environmental changes can make a BIG difference.
Understand. Support. Create spaces where every child can thrive. 🌈
