Jozi_My_Jozi

Jozi_My_Jozi We aim to inspire the people of Jozi, Mzansi and worldwide to help bring hope and instil pride back into our city.

To do this we needed to create a movement for the people... by the people... inspired by our constitution.

New date, same Jozi energy.

We’re still taking back Main Street for the people – just on a new day so more of us can pull through, shut down the traffic, and turn Jozi into one big open-streets playground. As the date drops in the video, lock it in, tell the crew, and get ready to make Main Street your playground.

Main Street Sundays family, we need to press pause.

The latest forecasts are calling for a cold, wet Sunday in the CBD, so we’ve made the tough call to postpone this edition of Main Street Sundays for everyone’s safety and comfort. This day is meant to feel like Jozi belongs to its people – open streets, kids on bikes, skaters, gogo on a camp chair, traders making sales – and the weather simply won’t let us do that properly this weekend.

A new date is on the way, and all your excitement, plans and registrations are coming with us. As soon as everything is locked in, we’ll share the updated details so you can bring your crew back to Main Street and meet Jozi at walking pace under clearer skies.

Tomorrow, we do Sunday the Jozi way.

The books are ready. The artists are ready. The yoga mats are ready. The kids’ corner is ready.

All we’re missing is you and your crew. Pull up. The weather is great and Sunday is the perfect day for you to feel some sun on your skin while you experience the city differently.

And if you’re coming alone, don’t stress. Jozi has a funny way of introducing people to each other.

Izobonana k’sasa! See you tomorrow!

A few nights ago, the Barbican lit up, and Jozi lost its mind with FOMO.

We heard you. So next up? We’re taking you inside.

Open House at The Barbican is officially part of Main Street Sundays, and this time, we’re opening the penthouse doors to the people. You’re invited to explore one of Joburg’s most iconic restored Art Deco landmarks with free penthouse and rooftop tours while Main Street goes car-free.

Join a guided walk up to the newly renovated Barbican Penthouse, soak up those skyline views and see the city centre from a whole new angle – at walking pace, not through a car window.

📍 The Barbican, 89 Helen Joseph St, corner Rissik St, Johannesburg CBD
🗓 Sunday 21 June 2026
⏰ 10:00 – 15:00 (tours depart throughout the day)

Free entry, max 10 people per tour, walk-ins welcome, subject to availability.
