Last night, creatives gathered at the A42 House to talk about funding, intermediaries, technology, cities and data. The conversations were authentic, and we trust that everyone walked away with the answers and solutions they were looking for.
We gathered to discuss the fact that the randelas are there to support the sector, but funding needs to be connected with creatives. We need policy, not only at national level but also at city level, to support and nourish creative cities, entrepreneurs and businesses, so we can advance the creative economy.
So here’s the plan – through Business and Arts South Africa (BASA) , Creative Futures Africa is creating working groups to draft policies, and engage with funders and government institutions, to enable the creative economy to flourish.
