They arrived as Air Scouts, ready to try something completely new.

No aircraft this time. Their adventure was waiting on the Vaal River. 🚣‍♂️

On 24–25 July 2026, Harmelia Gardens Air Scouts joined the Gauteng Sea Scouts Gig Adventure for the first time — taking on an incredible 55 km rowing challenge.

There were new skills to learn, kilometres to cover and plenty of teamwork needed along the way. But they kept going — and they completed it.

In doing so, they became the first Air Scout patrol to participate in and complete the Gig Adventure.

Thank you to the Gauteng Sea Scouts, Scouters and all the parents who supported them from beginning to finish.

Sometimes the best adventures are the ones that take you somewhere completely new.

Leadership isn’t about giving orders—it’s about serving, guiding, and inspiring others. 💙⚜️

Last night, Patrol Leader Jess demonstrated first aid with confidence, patience, and kindness. She guided the troop, answered questions, and helped every Scout build valuable life-saving skills while making learning fun and engaging.

Moments like these show what Scouting is all about—developing confident young leaders through teamwork, service, and hands-on learning.
