The sun was shining, the smiles were everywhere, but the water? 🥶 It was still ice cold! ❄️🌞

We're looking back at an unforgettable morning at the beautiful Munyaka, where swimmers took on the Polar Bear Swim on 2 August 2026. From the first brave step into the water to the final cheers from the shore, it was all about embracing the challenge, sharing plenty of laughs, and making memories together. 💙🏊

Best of all, every splash made a difference. All funds raised from the event went directly to the Beyond Bricks Foundation Learn2Swim programme, helping teach children essential swimming and water safety skills. 🌊💙

A huge well done to everyone who took the plunge. Here's to more incredible moments by the crystal clear lagoon! ✨

💚 This Mandela Day, we rolled up our sleeves to give back where it matters most.

Together with the incredible team from Stevensons Paints, who generously donated the paint and joined us on the day to help bring the project to life, we spent the day at the New Jerusalem Children's Home painting, refreshing and revitalising the facilities to create a brighter, more welcoming space for the children who call it home.

Their generosity, teamwork and willingness to get involved played a vital role in making this initiative such a meaningful success. Every brushstroke was a reminder that when we come together, we can create lasting change.

Together, we're building hope beyond bricks. ✨

World Drowning Prevention Day | 25 July Every child deserves the chance to be safe around water. In South Africa, approximately 1,500 people lose their lives to drowning every year, with almost 30% of these tragedies involving children under the age of 14. The good news is that drowning is preventable through water safety education and swimming skills. At the Beyond Bricks Foundation, our Learn2Swim Programme is committed to changing this reality by equipping children with life-saving swimming and water safety skills. Since the programme's inception, we have empowered more than 2,000 children across South Africa through Learn2Swim, while over 4,000 learners have been reached through our Water Safety School Outreach Programme, receiving vital water safety education and awareness materials. Our goal is to equip 1,000 people every year with essential swimming and water safety skills, helping to build safer, more confident communities. This World Drowning Prevention Day, let's work together to prevent drowning because every child deserves the opportunity to learn to swim.
