UICC and its members welcome the new President and Board of Directors for 2026–2028.

At today's UICC General Assembly, members from around the world welcomed Dr Zainab Shinkafi-Bagudu as she takes up her UICC Presidency, elected the new Board of Directors for 2026–2028, and Dr C S Pramesh, Director, Tata Memorial Hospital, as President-elect.

Breast cancer remains the most commonly diagnosed cancer among women worldwide and the leading cause of cancer death among women globally. In 2024, an estimated 2.4 million women were diagnosed and 694,000 died from the disease.

These numbers highlight the importance of prevention, early detection, timely diagnosis and access to quality treatment.
