🎉 EXCITING NEWS FROM ISIBANI SEMPILO YABANTU FOUNDATION! 🎉

We are proud to announce that two abstracts from our organisation have been accepted for in-person presentation at the 9th South African TB Conference 2026, taking place from 08–11 June 2026 at the Birchwood Hotel & OR Tambo Conference Centre.

👏 Congratulations to our Director, Siphelele Dhlamini, whose abstract titled:

"𝗛𝗮𝗿𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗦𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝘀, 𝗔𝗿𝘁𝘀 & 𝗖𝘂𝗹𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗘𝗻𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗧𝘂𝗯𝗲𝗿𝗰𝘂𝗹𝗼𝘀𝗶𝘀 𝗔𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀, 𝗛𝗜𝗩 & 𝗦𝗧𝗜𝘀 𝗣𝗿𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻"

👏 We also congratulate Siphamandla Mpungose, whose abstract was accepted for presentation at this prestigious national conference.

These achievements highlight the growing contribution of community-led organisations in advancing TB, HIV and STI prevention through innovative, people-centred approaches.

As an organisation, we remain committed to using sports, arts, culture, community dialogues and evidence-based interventions to create awareness, promote prevention and strengthen community health outcomes.

We look forward to sharing our experiences, learning from fellow practitioners, researchers and policymakers, and contributing to the national response to TB.

We are proud to announce that our Director, Mr. Siphelele Dlamini, is today representing the Johannesburg Sports, Arts & Culture Sector under the SANAC Civil Society Forum as Chairperson at the Johannesburg AIDS Council Quarterly Meeting taking place at the Connie Bapela Council Chambers in Johannesburg.

This important gathering brings together government leaders, civil society organizations, implementing partners, and community stakeholders to review progress, discuss challenges, and strengthen strategies aimed at addressing HIV, TB, and STIs within the City of Johannesburg.

As a sector committed to using sports, arts, and culture as powerful tools for advocacy, awareness, prevention, and social cohesion, we are honored to have our leadership contributing to these critical discussions that shape the future of the HIV and TB response.

We remain committed to supporting the goals of the South African National AIDS Council (SANAC) and ensuring that the voices of communities, particularly young people and vulnerable populations, continue to be represented in decision-making platforms.

We welcome the announcement by Aaron Motsoaledi that Lenacapavir stocks will begin rolling out to depots and health facilities across South Africa within the next two weeks, starting with 360 health facilities in high HIV burden districts.

This is a major milestone in strengthening HIV prevention efforts in our country. The introduction of Lenacapavir, a groundbreaking twice-yearly HIV prevention injection, offers new hope in reducing new HIV infections and improving access to innovative prevention methods for communities most at risk.

At Isibani Sempilo Yabantu Foundation, we are encouraged by this progressive step and remain committed to supporting HIV prevention, awareness, education, testing, and linkage to care through community dialogues, sports programmes, advocacy, and outreach initiatives.

As we continue the fight against HIV and AIDS, partnerships between government, civil society, healthcare workers, and communities remain critical in ensuring that no one is left behind.

Together, we can build healthier communities and move closer to ending HIV as a public health threat.
