Today we continued standing with the fathers, uncles and brothers who gather on the corners each morning hoping for employment.

These are men who carry the weight of providing for their families, often returning home with empty hands but not empty hearts.

We prepared lunch and served it with dignity a reminder that while opportunities may be scarce, care and community don’t have to be.

Our presence says one thing clearly you are seen, you are valued and you are not walking this journey alone.

African Child at Work will keep showing up for the men who show up every day with hope.

At African Child at Work we demonstrated a principle that sits at the heart of ethical leadership and effective governance institutional integrity

The alignment between what an organisation declares and what it consistently delivers.

Despite a morning marked first by heavy mist and later by a downpour of rain, our team upheld the commitment we make to our community.

In governance terms this reflects the King IV emphasis on ethical and effective leadership, where credibility is built not through statements but through observable, repeatable action.

Our ability to operate under adverse weather conditions illustrates three academically recognised dimensions of resilient community organisations

Ethical Stewardship fulfilling our mandate with integrity, transparency, and a commitment to human dignity.

Thanks to the generosity of Shoprite South Africa our community experienced more than just a meal.

They made a good turn in our area, arriving with warm soup and fresh bread transforming an icy day into a moment of comfort and dignity.

There’s something powerful about how the
cold amplifies the value of warmth, warm soup doesn’t just fill stomachs it restores energy.

Yesterday the contrast was clear the colder the day, the warmer the spirit of Ubuntu.

Their contribution wasn’t just food it was a reminder that corporate partners can stand with communities in meaningful, practical ways.

Shoprite act of change helped us continue our mission of uplifting, feeding and restoring dignity to every person who walks through our gates.

African Child at Work remains committed to serving with heart, consistency and purpose no matter the weather.
