South African Reading Week is being celebrated in style at Tsojana Resource Centre! 📚✨

We’re hosting an exciting Reading and Spelling Competition, proudly organised by Intsika Yethu Libraries in partnership with Vulindlela Educational Trust.

🌟 Language Reading & Spelling Competition a Huge Success! 🌟

In partnership with the Department of Education, Vulindlela Educational Trust, together with Intsika Yethu Libraries, proudly hosted a Language Reading and Spelling Competition at Tsojana Resource Centre.

The event brought together 35 enthusiastic learners from 7 schools:
Sango Ntsaluba PS, Tsojana PS, Lower Tsojana PS, Ngonyama PS, Mawushe PS, Mkwinti PS and
Gcingca PS

The competition was graced by the Circuit Manager of the Sisonke Circuit (Department of Education), Mr Yotsi is M. Yotsi, who commended the initiative for promoting literacy and a culture of reading among learners.

Learners received prizes for excellence, while all participants were recognized with consolation prizes for their enthusiasm and effort.

Bringing Services Closer to the Community

On 8 October 2025, the Department of Home Affairs, in collaboration with the Vulindlela Educational Trust, provided essential services at the Tsojana Resource Centre — assisting community members with Smart ID card applications.

This initiative supported both first-time applicants and those replacing lost or damaged IDs. A total of 134 people successfully applied, while a few could not proceed due to compliance-related issues.

By hosting this service locally, community members saved valuable time and travel costs, reinforcing how the Tsojana Resource Centre continues to be a vital hub for accessing essential government services.

We deeply appreciate the continued partnerships with government departments, whose collaboration helps us bring meaningful change and improve lives within the Tsojana community. 🌍🤝

🌟 Continuing Our Commitment to Early Childhood Development 🌟

Vulindlela Educational Trust, in partnership with The Unlimited Child, hosted another impactful training workshop on 1–2 October 2025 at the Tsojana Resource Centre.

This year, 36 Early Childhood Development (ECD) practitioners representing 18 preschools joined us for two days of hands-on learning, collaboration, and growth. This dynamic group—distinct from last year’s participants—embraced the opportunity to strengthen their skills and deepen their understanding of quality early childhood education.

Together, we continue to build on our shared vision: empowering ECD practitioners to give every child the best possible start in life. 🌱✨
