🎓 EMPOWERING TSOMO LEARNERS THROUGH CAREER AWARENESS
On 27 and 28 July 2026, Vulindlela Educational Trust successfully conducted its 2026 Career Awareness Campaign at four schools in the Tsomo area:
📍 Tsomo Secondary School
📍 Mangelengele Secondary School
📍 Gobinamba Secondary School
📍 Ndyebo Ntsaluba Secondary School
The campaign reached an incredible 1,552 learners across Grades 8 to 12.
Of these beneficiaries:
🔹 460 were Grade 9 learners, who received guidance at an important stage for subject selection and career planning.
🔹 377 were Grade 12 learners, who received information to support their immediate post-school education and training decisions.
Together, Grade 9 and Grade 12 learners accounted for 837 of the total campaign beneficiaries.
Learners were introduced to university and TVET education pathways, programme and admission requirements, subject choices, career opportunities and the importance of planning for life after school.
We sincerely thank King Hintsa TVET College for participating in all four school sessions. The presentations were informative, engaging and well-delivered providing learners with valuable guidance on TVET programmes and vocational career pathways.
We also extend our appreciation to Mr Vuyisani Nkwenkwezi, a University of Johannesburg graduate and Friend of the Trust, for sharing valuable information and insights on university pathways with the learners.
The successful completion of all four sessions demonstrates the value of taking career guidance directly to learners in their school environments. It also reinforces the importance of collaboration between schools, education and training institutions, community organisations and professionals in helping young people make informed decisions about their futures.
Vulindlela Educational Trust remains committed to expanding access to career guidance and educational opportunities for learners in rural communities.
