Yesterday evening, we spent time with learners at Indwe High School Hostel, where we eagerly replicated the Ilizwe lam iLizwe Lam Digital Awareness Training. It was inspiring to see how much they’ve learned about using the internet safely and responsibly.

Our Managing Director and the Hostel Matron were also present, offering encouragement and support as learners shared what they’ve gained from the session. Moments like these remind us why digital empowerment truly starts at community level. Yesterday we hosted a Storytelling Awareness Campaign at Ida High School focused on the Right to Basic Education. Learners had heartfelt conversations with their teachers about how education has shaped their lives the opportunities it has opened, the challenges they faced in accessing it, and the courage it took to overcome those barriers.

IZwi Mentorship Hub proudly joined the SPARK CHANGE Eco Youth Summit in Nelson Mandela Bay, where young eco- champions from across South Africa came together to shape solutions for a sustainable future.

Hosted by masifunde learner development with the TUI Care Foundation and the of education, the summit brought together more than 100 high school learners and 40 partner organisations for three days of learning , collaboration, and action.

Our eco-champions from Eastern Cape, Chris Hani District, showcased their community project, learn from environmental experts, and helped craft a shared Vision 2030 for a greener, more resilient South Africa.

What a joy to see IZwi Mentorship Hub well represented at the National Eco-Champions Youth Summit.Two of our bright young leaders ,one from Ida High School and the other from Lukhanyo high school have earned their place among South Africa’s inspiring youth changemakers.

This moment didn’t happen overnight. It has been a three-year journey filled with learning, mentorship, and community action. From their early days as shy learners in our workshops to confident youth leaders who speak boldly about climate justice and sustainability their growth tells a story of hope, resilience, and responsibility.

Through our environmental education and youth empowerment programmes, we’ve walked beside them , nurturing their leadership, helping them understand the link between waste and climate change, and inspiring them to become responsible citizens who care deeply for their environment and communities. Today, they stand not just as participants in a summit, but as voices of change proof that when young people are given guidance, opportunities, and belief, they rise beyond expectations.

We are incredibly proud of them and grateful to their school teachers and parents who made this journey possible. Together, we are shaping a generation that will protect the earth and lead with purpose.
