This month at Active Minds Society, we are focusing on leadership and personal development, and this is exactly the kind of opportunity we want our team to experience.
We are proud to celebrate our Assistant Programme Coordinator, who represented Active Minds Society at the She Leads KZN Women’s Leadership Camp.
Following an invitation from the Department of Social Development and the Snethemba Women’s Foundation, she spent five days at Ezemvelo Wildlife’s Didima Resort, connecting with women, learning from others and participating in a space centred around leadership and growth.
One of the highlights was having the opportunity to present Active Minds Society and share the work we are doing to empower young people and communities through education, sports and community engagement.
For us, personal development is not separate from the work we do. We want our team to grow alongside the organisation. That means creating opportunities for our team to build confidence, develop their leadership abilities, expand their networks and learn how to represent the organisation beyond our usual spaces.
We are particularly proud because she stepped into this opportunity not only as an AMS team member, but as someone trusted to carry our organisation’s story and values into the room.
Leadership starts with being willing to step forward. Growth happens when you are willing to step outside what you already know.
We are excited to continue making leadership and personal development part of how we build our team at AMS.
