Every month, millions of girls and women across the world manage their periods without access to basic hygiene products, clean water, or a safe space to do so with dignity. Menstrual hygiene is not a women's issue on the sidelines. It is a public health issue, an education issue, and a human right. When a girl cannot manage her period safely, she does not just miss a day. She misses opportunities, confidence, and the chance to simply be present in her own life.
Today, on World Menstrual Hygiene Day, we choose to say it plainly: every girl deserves dignity, and that conversation starts with all of us.
A sincere thank you to Boxer Superstore for their generous support of our upcoming workshop. Your contribution goes directly to the girls in our community who need it most.
Our next menstrual health and confidence workshop is on 30 June 2026. Each hygiene pack includes pads, a toothbrush, toothpaste, bar soap, and roll-on deodorant. If you would like to donate products or contribute to this initiative, we would love to hear from you.

This Wednesday, our team sat down with some incredible people.
We joined YD Co-Lab - Youth Development Collaboration Lab for Week 6 of the MCP Design Challenge and Systems Workshop, a collaborative initiative that has brought Active Minds Society together with other youth development organisations.
Each week we have been digging into the questions that matter most to anyone who works with young people: what shapes their futures? What systems and influences are steering them, for better or for worse, and what can organisations like ours do to reduce the harm and amplify the good?

This week's discussions were particularly meaningful. Our team contributed to conversations that challenged all of us to think beyond our own programmes and look at the bigger picture. There is real value in sitting with people who face different challenges in different communities and finding the common threads. It sharpens your thinking. It reminds you that no organisation can do this work alone.
We have one week left. Next week we present the full outcome of our work to the broader MCP cohort from across South Africa, and we are genuinely looking forward to hearing what other provinces have been working through.

To YD Co-Lab - Youth Development Collaboration Lab, thank you for putting this together.
