🌸 Not everyone loves a season change — and that’s okay. 🌸

Maybe you caught that first warm breeze and instantly felt lighter, new energy, new blooms, ready to bloom right along with spring. Or maybe change (even good change) can feel unsettling. Maybe it stirs up old feelings, disrupts routine, or just feels like a lot all at once.

In South Africa there is one su***de every hour. 24 deaths by su***de a day.

Su***de remains one of life’s most devastating paradoxes: an irreversible, permanent act, chosen to escape what is almost always a temporary problem or situation.
It goes against the most primal instinct we have — to survive.
Su***de is preventable.
Su***de is not an option.

On Friday 14 August we had the privilege of shaping conversations around mental health awareness and su***de prevention with WITS students.

We explored pressures facing our youth: academic pressure, social media and cyber bullying, relationships and identity, family stresses, and global events.

We discussed the emotional, behavioural, verbal, and social warning signs / Red flags.

We spoke about how to prepare for conversations around su***de.

Su***de can hide behind a smile.

Happy Medal Monday to all those who did the Old Ed’s Vitality series yesterday
Whether 5km, 10km or 21km- you did that, you showed up and you did hard things 💙

It was so special seeing everyone kitted out in their Matthew and Me merch yesterday! 🥰

While some people weren’t able to join the official run but they still showed up for M&Me 💙
From Durban to New Zealand and another places on the world, Matthew’s legacy was left all over 💙
