IMBIZO YAMAKRWALA 2026



Sakhe Family Care proudly hosted Imbizo yaMakrwala 2026, a meaningful gathering aimed at celebrating and welcoming young men as they begin their journey into manhood.

The event recognized and honoured the dedication of local traditional leaders, especially iingcibi and amakhankatha, for their commitment to safeguarding the lives, health, and dignity of young initiates during the initiation season. Their leadership and responsibility ensured that no deaths or hospitalised initiates were reported, reflecting the importance of proper care, guidance, and adherence to safe practices.

We also acknowledge the vital role played by the Department of Health officials, who worked closely with traditional leaders to promote hygiene, monitor conditions, and ensure that initiates were legally registered and protected throughout the initiation process.

This Imbizo served as an important reminder of the responsibility men carry in society — to stand against Gender-Based Violence and Femicide (GBVF), promote positive masculinity, and encourage healthy and responsible lifestyles among young men.

Together as stakeholders , we continue to build a generation of men who lead with respect, responsibility, and integrity.

🎉 Partnership in Action! 🎉

Yhoooohoooo… Your First Steps to Greatness 👣

We are proud to welcome 40 Health Care Workers as a new cohort at Sakhe Family Development Centre, officially signed, onboarded, and registered on the Kwantu App biometric system.

This partnership will see our healthcare workers supporting Kouga Municipality clinics and hospital facilities, while Sakhe monitors and supports the programme over the next 6 months to ensure quality service delivery and impact.

This exciting journey strengthens our collaboration with the Department of Health in Kouga Municipality, unlocking potential, creating opportunities, and improving healthcare services in our communities through dedicated volunteers and administrators.

🤩 We look forward to the unfolding journey with the SSK–SEF Programme.
