Yesterday we had the pleasure of hosting the Nico Malan High School Drama Club at AFDA Port Elizabeth. After learning a bit more about the campus and the programmes we have on offer, they underwent an acting workshop with our LP Stage Lecturer, Ms Jen Schneeberger.
In the afternoon, we were treated to a brilliant performance of ‘Ons Tyd is Nou’ - a theatre piece they developed that recently traveled to ATKV Tienertoneel. The work resonates with themes of equal human rights, gender parity and solidarity among women, a topic so relevant to the times we find ourselves in. Together with this, it also offers a profound nod to female heroes such as Joan of Arc, Mary Shelley and Janet Ntozini. We were so impressed by their diligence and dedication, and the quality of work they delivered. Well done Nico Malan! ✨ we hope to see this kind of Eastern Cape talent at AFDA PE soon!
