Youth Day 2026 | A legacy of hope starts with investing in our young people.

Nkosinathi's story is the story of so many young South Africans. Finished matric. Stuck at home. Job hunting with no luck.

Then a friend introduced him to the Dream Centre.

"They're not changing your life by getting you a job. No, they change you emotionally. The way you think about yourself. They teach you about life."

Today, Nkosinathi is working.

Here is the challenge for all of us this Youth Day:

🏏 History made in Mpophomeni!

More than 300 learners from seven local primary schools took part in the community’s first-ever KFC Mini-Cricket Festival, hosted by Cricket South Africa and KZN Inland Cricket Union in celebration of International Day of Play.

With the support of Love Umngeni NPC, the event brought fun, teamwork, and the joy of cricket to young learners, while opening the door to exciting new opportunities for the growth of the game in Mpophomeni.

This was more than a festival—it was the start of cricket’s future in the community.

Ever wonder who keeps our town looking so vibrant and cared for every single day? 🌍✨
The dedicated Love uMngeni teams are out on the streets daily doing the heavy lifting to keep our community thriving. From clearing blocked stormwater drains to prevent flooding, to landscaping beautiful green verges and urban food gardens, they are actively transforming our public spaces.
This incredible maintenance work is powered by community love, and hands-on citizens.

* Today’s job list included: clearing pavements and drains in Merrivale, plus giving the flowerbeds along Main Road in Merrivale some much needed TLC, weeding pavements along Main Street and Fraser Street Howick, recycling waste collections, and clearing bugweed next to Howick West Stadium.

A devastating fire tore through our community, leaving 10 local families with absolutely nothing. In minutes, everything was gone.

Today, Love uMngeni and Angels Care partnered to distribute clothing, shoes, and houseware to those who lost everything.
