Thurlow Member, Mark and 4 Fellow members of the Pietermaritzburg HO group joined SnareAware on a snare patrol on Kameelkop private game reserve.

SnareAware arranged the weekend.

Kameelkop is in The Wasbank area.
Thornveldt and rocks, millions of rocks
All reserves face similar problems:
Under a lot of pressure from surrounding communities: illegal hunting, snaring, dogs and grazing.

WARNING: Some pictures are not suitable for sensitive viewers!

The jackel was not caught in a snare. It might have been poisoned.

Also did a river patrol to the beach and the mangroves. Rob and I even got the opportunity to skipper the patrol boat. The engine on the boat was serviced by us the previous day during the engine maintenance course.
