Young Dynasty NPO and Star Struck Records Host Talent Auditions and Industry Opportunities in Mitchells Plain
Young Dynasty NPO, in partnership with Star Struck Records, will host an exciting talent audition event on Saturday, 25 April 2026 at Dagbreek Hall Market. This initiative forms part of the build-up to the highly anticipated Blue Downs Family Festival, taking place on 24 September 2026 at Westridge Gardens from 10:00 to 23:00.
The audition process, scheduled from 10:00 to 13:00, is designed to be accessible and engaging, giving emerging artists the opportunity to showcase their talent in front of a live audience within a vibrant market environment. This platform aims to discover and promote local talent from Mitchells Plain and surrounding communities.
In addition to auditions, the event will provide:
Opportunities for job seekers to sign up for roles at the festival
A platform for service providers to present and pitch their products and services directly to the organisers
As a community-driven initiative, Young Dynasty NPO and the Blue Downs Family Festival are committed to creating meaningful opportunities for local residents, especially as Mitchells Plain celebrates its 50th anniversary milestone.
Following the auditions, attendees are invited to participate in a free Music Business and Event Training Course, facilitated by Brilynn van Rooyen. This programme is tailored for artists, musicians, and service providers in the entertainment industry, equipping them with essential knowledge on navigating and monetising within the sector.
The course will take place weekly at the Town Centre Library, starting 24 April 2026 and continuing throughout the year.
Furthermore, on 29 April 2026, Young Dynasty NPO, in partnership with the Department of Social Development, will host a dedicated training workshop for NPOs. This session will cover key areas such as governance, registration, legal compliance, fundraising proposals, and organisational sustainability.
