STARWAYS POTTERY offers wood fired pots and workshops from their forest studio in Hogsback, Eastern Cape, South Africa. Liyanda and Gwyneth cover the full range of the processes for making clay, glazes and stoneware reduction fired pottery in their off the grid studio. Wood fire glaze effects were researched by the late Anton Van Der Merwe who has left them the recipes for copper, cobalt and ash glazes which mature and melt at 1320°. Stoking bisque and glaze kilns with wattle and blue gum fuel takes 16 to 33 hours firing. Their patrons treasure these pots with rare wood fire effects and return regularly to add to their collections. Or... request the offered courier packaging service through Postnet SA. Details of pots and workshops can be obtained on WhatsApp 082 928 5770
