KINGLY CONSERVATION CAMP OFFERS NEW CONSERVATION ORIENTATED ACTIVITIES
The newly revamped Kingly Conservation Camp is the perfect choice for any conservation-minded client. Located in the Belle North area, Kingly opened its borders with Balule in 2018.
Previously used for hunting and cattle ranching, Bundox acquired the concession in January 2024 and transformed the camp into a classic safari destination for FIT guests. Now open for bookings, the camp features four en-suite tents and two safari lounge areas where guests can observe animals drinking from the nearby waterhole.
Activities at Kingly Conservation Camp include game drives, night drives, Olifants River boat cruises, walking safaris, and participation in conservation projects.
GUARDIANS OF NATURE
Bundox is also developing the Khanya Conservation Hub adjacent to the main camp. Currently operating from a temporary center, the Khanya project is fully endorsed by the Balule Nature Reserve and will host a series of conservation-oriented activities.
Positive impact activities at Khanya include:
- Removal of snares and wires; Removal of alien plant species; Bush debris removal
- Tree impact data collection and reporting; Assistance to biodiversity researchers
- Selected species observation and reporting; - Fence patrols, testing, and repairs
Bundox continues to support researchers financially through the camp rates, enabling them to collect information and document the thriving of ecologically important species.
In the long term, this data will highlight rare species (such as grysbok and wild dogs) and underscore the significance of biodiversity.
