🎃🌱 IT’S THAT TIME OF YEAR AGAIN… LET’S GROW! 🌱🎃

The pumpkins are coming back! 👀🎃

For the past few years, Sani152 Round Table has been getting our local school kids planting, growing and competing — and now it’s time to do it all again!

Every child gets a packet of pumpkin seeds, and then the challenge is on. 🌱

Plant it. Grow it. Nurture it. Bring it to school.
And let’s see who can grow the pumpkin to beat them all! 💪🎃

But it’s not just about the biggest pumpkin…

🏆 Biggest Pumpkin
🎨 Most Creative Pumpkin
🌱 Most Produce Grown by a Class
…and plenty of other prizes along the way!

What we love most about this project is watching the kids get excited about growing their own food, getting their hands dirty, learning together and having a bit of friendly competition.

So, parents… clear some space in the garden. 😂
Kids… GET PLANTING! 🌱

Let’s see what our community can grow this year. 🎃

What. A. Weekend. 🇿🇦🤝💙

Three days. Three incredible events. One unforgettable reminder of what Round Table is all about.

We kicked things off by welcoming fellow Tablers from the Netherlands, Sweden, Germany and India during the Umhlanga 155 Numbers Tour. Great fellowship, banner and pin exchanges, and plenty of stories shared around the braai with our Chairman, Michael Beghin, proudly representing Sani 152.

On Friday, our Sani 152 Mass Raid welcomed Tablers from Kokstad 35, Kloof 190, Westville 189 and Margate 46, together with RTSA, our friends from 41 Club (Mike, Tony, Guy, Kevin, Bud & Grant) and the Moths. A huge congratulations to Mike Schroeder on becoming an official member of Sani 152, and to Rowan Garrett, who was inducted recently by RTSA President Wessel Dreyer at Tri-Area.

Saturday saw us serving at the CHOC Walk on Sani Pass, alongside fellow Tablers and our families. From burgers and boerewors rolls to tea, coffee and plenty of smiles, it was a privilege to support such an incredible cause.

A massive thank you to everyone who travelled to Underberg, shared fellowship, and served alongside us. This weekend proved once again that Round Table is more than meetings—it’s friendship, family and service in action.

🤝 WELCOME TO THE BERG!

This Friday, Round Table SANI 152 has the privilege of hosting the Natal South Coast Area Mass Raid here in Underberg.

Mass Raid is one of the highlights of our Table year. It’s an opportunity for Tablers from across the Natal South Coast Area, together with their wives, partners and families, to come together in true Round Table spirit—strengthening friendships, sharing ideas, celebrating what we’ve achieved, and looking ahead to the year still to come.

We’re incredibly excited to welcome each and every one of you to our community.

The fellowship doesn’t end on Friday night. On Saturday, we’ll roll up our sleeves together as we assist with the CHOC Walk, serving food and supporting an event that makes a real difference in the lives of children and families affected by childhood cancer.

Safe travels to everyone making the journey. We can’t wait to share a great weekend of fellowship, family, fun and service.

See you in the Berg!

🎾🍸 AN UPDATE FROM THE LEGS OF SANI152 🍸🎾

Sometimes, even the best-laid plans need a change of course.

After much discussion, the Legs of Sani152 have made the difficult decision to cancel WimbleGin this Saturday.

While we’re naturally disappointed, we believe that community events should be memorable for all the right reasons. Rather than pressing ahead with a smaller event than we’d envisioned, we’ve chosen to pause, regroup, and come back with something that truly captures the spirit of what the Legs love creating.

To everyone who entered, offered sponsorship, shared our posts, or simply cheered us on—thank you. Your support means more than you know, and we’re incredibly grateful to be part of such a wonderful community.

The good news? The Legs are already working on our next fundraising event, and we’re excited to bring you something special later this year. Those who entered WimbleGin will be the first to hear about it before we announce it publicly.

So, while there’ll be no tennis, pancakes or questionable line calls this weekend, this certainly isn’t the end.

As every good Tableer knows… when one plan doesn’t quite work out, you don’t dwell on it—you roll up your sleeves and start planning the next one.

We’ll see you all very soon.

🔥 WHAT IS A 41ER? 🔥

Pull up a chair.
Top up your brandy & Coke.
This one’s a story.

A 41er is that oke who rocks up to a meeting late, sits wherever he wants, and confidently clears his throat like he’s about to change the world…

He won’t.
Because he can’t vote anymore.
That privilege was removed. Deliberately.

Once a Tabler.
Now a glorified peanut gallery 🥜

A 41er will almost always start with:

“When I was a Tabler…”
or
“Back in the day, we used to do it like this…”

Was it better back then?
Maybe.
Did it happen exactly like that?
Absolutely not.

They are always full of 💩 —
yet somehow packed to the brim with wisdom, experience, and stories that get better every single year.

They’ve been axed from tabling,
but never from the fire.

They’ve seen the wins.
They’ve survived the chaos.
They’ve earned the right to chirp… loudly.

And let’s be honest —
there is nothing better than sitting by a fire with a 41er,
cold brandy & Coke in hand,
listening to stories you’ve heard before…
and will happily hear again.

No vote.
No filter.
No bedtime.

41ers don’t make tabling easier.
They make it better.

SANI152 41ers
Retired from tabling.
Never retired from the vibe. 🍻🔥

Meet Sean Denysschen — dairy manager, early riser, and Underberg local by choice.

Sean has spent nine years in dairy farming, with a three-year chapter in conservation at Hluhluwe–iMfolozi Park. When COVID brought that role to an end, he returned to dairy — a field he’s passionate about and proud to call home.

Growing up between Hillcrest and Mooi River, Sean’s love for farming took root at Weston Agricultural College. Childhood camps and family trips planted the seed early that Underberg was where he wanted to settle. Moving here turned out to be one of the best decisions he’s ever made — thanks to a fulfilling job, great friends, a supportive community, and an active outdoor lifestyle. It’s not one thing that’s kept him here — it’s everything.

His days start before sunrise, milking cows, checking grazing, running irrigation, fixing fences, and keeping a close eye on the herd. Evenings usually end with gym time, his two dogs, a good whiskey, and one of Underberg’s unbeatable sunsets.

Outside of work, Sean enjoys fishing, hiking, camping, braaing with mates, tending to his rose bushes, watching sport, and occasionally embracing a slightly reckless night. Golf is next on the list.

Sean joined Round Table Sani 152 to make a difference. From bringing smiles to Pevensey residents to supporting childhood cancer initiatives, he believes even the smallest acts of kindness matter. He describes Sani 152 as a group of men with real gees, compassion, and camaraderie — and feels honoured to be part of the table.

👨‍👧‍👦🐾 Happy Father’s Day 🐾👨‍👦‍👦

To all the dads in our community — and to our Legs, who somehow manage to put up with us 😉 — today we say thank you.

Thank you for the long days, the quiet sacrifices, the support behind the scenes, and for keeping the wheels turning at home while we’re out “saving the world”.

And to the fur-dads out there — if your kids have paws, hooves, feathers, or fins, this one’s for you too. Fur-ther’s Day counts.

Your families (and fur families) love you.
Your community appreciates you.
Enjoy the day — you’ve earned it.

From everyone at Sani152 ❤️

🎳 COMMUNITY, COMPETITION & A GREAT CAUSE 🎳

On Tuesday, 16 June 2026, Sani 152 had the privilege of supporting a fantastic bowls fundraiser at the Underberg Bowling Club in aid of Dance Inc., a talented group of young dancers raising funds for their trip to the National Championships in Cape Town.

The event attracted an incredible turnout, with 18 teams of four players taking to the greens and well over 100 people enjoying the day from early morning. Guests were welcomed with complimentary bacon and egg rolls, while local vendors offered delicious treats and cakes, creating a festive atmosphere before the first bowl was even rolled.

Community spirit was on full display as participants travelled from Underberg, Himeville and surrounding areas to support the cause. Local businesses and individuals contributed an impressive array of prizes and donations, helping to make the fundraiser a tremendous success.

Sani 152 entered two teams on the day, including a leg side, and fittingly our first match was against one another! There was plenty of laughter, friendly rivalry and good sportsmanship throughout the morning. We are proud to report that Sani 152 finished the day in 2nd place overall, with our members heading home with smiles, great memories and a few prizes too.

Although only two games were played and the bowling concluded around lunchtime, which goes to show just how much fun everyone was having, the event showcased the potential of bowls as both a social activity and an effective fundraising platform. It also provided excellent exposure for the Underberg Bowling Club and generated interest among potential new members.

A huge congratulations to Dance Inc. on a successful fundraiser. We wish all the dancers every success as they travel to Cape Town to compete at Nationals and look forward to hearing about their achievements.

Thank you to everyone who organised, sponsored, donated and participated in a truly memorable day.

Last night, the gents of Sani152 had the privilege of attending a MOTHs meeting – and what an evening it was.

We walked into a room full of stories, history, wisdom… and average ages north of 60 (by a comfortable margin 😄). The age gap was real, the suits were sharp, and the fellowship was second to none.

What struck us most was how natural the camaraderie felt. Different generations, different chapters of life – but the same values: service, brotherhood, loyalty, and showing up for one another. These are the men who are always there to support us, and it was an absolute honour to return that support by sitting in their space for the evening.

It was a reminder that no matter your age, you’re never done learning. Experience meets energy. Wisdom meets enthusiasm. And somewhere in between, great friendships are formed.

Thank you to the MOTHs for the warm welcome, the laughs, the lessons, and the reminder that growth doesn’t retire at 60 – it just gets better stories.

Here’s to strong bonds between organisations, mutual respect across generations, and plenty more shared evenings like this 🍻
