Today reminded us that our work goes beyond training dogs — it’s about empowering families with knowledge and care. This week, a family reached out, worried their pup might not survive. At class, we were able to guide them: explaining safe practices (no Jeyes fluid!), debunking myths (no worm under the tongue), and sharing information on food, vaccines, and sterilization. 💛
Our dream is becoming reality — a space where the community feels welcome to seek guidance while we train, ensuring healthier, happier lives for both dogs and their people. 🐾🌍

Sleezy may be the master of dodging vaccinations, but with patience and care, he finally got them done — thanks to Manqoba’s incredible way with animals and Philani from the SPCA staying true to his word. Danger wasn’t far behind, proudly strutting with his self‑appointed handlers who thought he was the bees knees!
Huge thanks to the SPCA team and to Manqoba for their outstanding dedication! 💛

The pics of the day… the sweetest irony is that two of our handlers aren’t even the dogs’ owners 🫶.
Our mission to instill kindness keeps unfolding in ways we never anticipated — and it’s magic to witness. 💛
Thank you Fawny, Rosemary, and Carolyne for being the glue that holds it all together.
Beanie distribution day brought warmth to 20 kids — a beautiful closure to an incredibly cold week. Deep gratitude to Dr Buys, Estelle, and Fawny for making it possible.

Jack and Lethu took a quiet moment between exercises to practice a ‘vet check.’
These simple sessions build trust, ease, and confidence—helping our dogs grow comfortable with gentle handling while keeping an eye on their wellbeing. 💛

Today Zama and Methlo brought the class a playful game — dogs rising tall on their back legs, forepaws resting gently on an outstretched arm. The joy was real, and yes… it also meant a round of nail trims for those sharp little toes! 🐾💛

Moments like these remind us why Inja Yethu exists 💛
It is so rewarding being able to capture such gentle and quite affection between a dog and its handler.
Though high school keeps these three boys busy and away from class often, their presence brings such joy whenever they can join us.

From the Mademeni Community, Bella was sterilized and vaccinated the other day thanks to Friends of K9 Trust NPO 221-862 and Pulse Veterinary Clinic ! Word of our work is spreading, and we are so grateful. When we met Bella’s family, we discovered it was the children’s birthdays — 10 and 8 years old! With support from Animal Anti-Cruelty League, Durban and Pietermaritzburg , we shared dog food, colouring books, pencil crayons, bubbles, and a jersey with food bowl for Bella. 🎉🐶
Your constant supply of goodies never goes to waste — each gift brings joy at just the right time. 💛

Our hearts were full when Northwood School reached out last year, asking how they could support Inja Yethu through their community outreach program.

Today, we’re thrilled to share their update: 13 brand‑new tyre beds are on the way!
We are still in desperate need in donations of bedding that will not be easily destructed while keeping the dogs warm in the winter months. Any and all donations are greatly appreciated. 💛

With your valued donations, we were able to give Ranger a long‑acting tick treatment and a 28‑day supply of medication. What truly touched our hearts was seeing Lethukukanya’s sharp breath at the sight of the generous bag of food donated by Gayle. 💛
Ranger’s colour has already improved since Thursday, and we hold hope that she won’t face another relapse—all thanks to you. ✨

Every act of kindness, every gift, every bit of support is making a real difference. Thank you for walking this path of compassion with us. 🌸🐾

You may remember this little one’s first visit to the SPCA, where she spent a week recovering from bilary and ehrlichia, receiving sterilization and vaccinations. Sadly, her health continues to decline. We’d love to give her the best chance with another visit to the SPCA — but this comes with a bill of around R400.She is a darling dog, living in an environment of care and love. If you feel moved to support her medically, or to keep her in your prayers, please PM us. Every act of kindness makes a difference. 🌸🐾Thank you for walking alongside us in compassion. 💛
