We also promote community and animal health through education and rabies vaccination campaigns.

Eight dogs went home yesterday after being sterilized, vaccinated, and dewormed — including a surprise last‑minute female brought in off the street. With the Hillcrest chill, we’ve asked families to keep them extra warm as they recover.
Days like this take patience, love, and teamwork. Thanks to Mandisa’s leadership, Puppy, Snoopy, and three Pit Bulls in our class now have brighter futures.
Huge gratitude to Friends of K9 Trust NPO 221-862, Pulse Veterinary Clinic , Animal Anti-Cruelty League, Durban and Pietermaritzburg , and every donor of food, blankets, beds, and more. Your kindness makes days like this possible — thank you! 💛💛

🐾 What an inspiring weekend! 🐾

A huge thank you to Carol from Monkey Helpline for so generously opening her beautiful home and facilities to host a gathering of welfare and rescue organisations. Carol, your warmth, hospitality and exceptionally generous catering made everyone feel so welcome. ❤️

And what a presenter! Daniel Steward brought the subject of rabies prevention and eradication to life with incredible energy, knowledge and enthusiasm. His dynamic presentation was packed with information that is so important to everyone working with animals and communities.

It was wonderful to spend time with so many people and organisations who are all working, in their own ways, towards the same goal — protecting animals, protecting people, and building a safer, kinder community.

A heartfelt thanks and acknowledgement to every organisation, volunteer and individual who was there. The strength of animal welfare lies in people sharing knowledge, supporting one another and working together.

A special thank you to Carol and Daniel for making this such a valuable, informative and thoroughly enjoyable weekend. 🌿🐒🐕❤️

Today reminded us that our work goes beyond training dogs — it’s about empowering families with knowledge and care.This week, a family reached out, worried their pup might not survive. At class, we were able to guide them: explaining safe practices (no Jeyes fluid!), debunking myths (no worm under the tongue), and sharing information on food, vaccines, and sterilization. 💛
Our dream is becoming reality — a space where the community feels welcome to seek guidance while we train, ensuring healthier, happier lives for both dogs and their people. 🐾🌍

Sleezy may be the master of dodging vaccinations, but with patience and care, he finally got them done — thanks to Manqoba’s incredible way with animals and Philani from the SPCA staying true to his word. Danger wasn’t far behind, proudly strutting with his self‑appointed handlers who thought he was the bees knees!

The pics of the day… the sweetest irony is that two of our handlers aren’t even the dogs’ owners 🫶.
Our mission to instill kindness keeps unfolding in ways we never anticipated — and it’s magic to witness. 💛

Beanie distribution day brought warmth to 20 kids — a beautiful closure to an incredibly cold week. Deep gratitude to Dr Buys, Estelle, and Fawny for making it possible.

Jack and Lethu took a quiet moment between exercises to practice a ‘vet check.’
These simple sessions build trust, ease, and confidence—helping our dogs grow comfortable with gentle handling while keeping an eye on their wellbeing. 💛

Today Zama and Methlo brought the class a playful game — dogs rising tall on their back legs, forepaws resting gently on an outstretched arm. The joy was real, and yes… it also meant a round of nail trims for those sharp little toes! 🐾💛
