Change Happens when we Make Change Happen
What good is a man of he cannot make the world a better place. In 1995 The Better World Alliance was founded by Ibrahim Shaik, during his matric year, when he put together a food and medicine drive in his school to help the victims of the Bosnian War. Operation B*R*A*T (Bosnian Relief Appeal Task), was formulated at the back of a classroom during lessons a

nd was a success. In 2006 Natal was devastated by floods. Shaik, who was running his own business at that time approached other corporates to assist in collecting food, clothes, and building materials to help the victims of the disaster. Being well acquainted with the changing weather patterns on earth due to global warming ,he reflected over the damage caused by the storm and Shaik anticipated more lives would be lost in coming years as floods and storms would become more frequent. He believed lives could be saved if people were prepared. After the floods he went on a campaign that would educate the people about how to prepare for floods. He called this initiative the CDC (Crisis And Disaster Centre). Its purpose to prepare people for abnormal weather and also to priced emergency relief during and after floods. In 2009 Shaik expanded the CDC scope to include Abused woman and Children who found themselves thrown out of their homes due to domestic violence. Shaik would often be first at the scene, on a typical Friday or Saturday night helping woman and children who had either fled their homes or they had been thrown out due alcohol intoxicated men. Shaik would attend to injuries, arrange meals for the victims, assist at the SAP (if cases needed to be opened), and do a final handover to Authorities. In some cases temporary accommodation had to be arranged for the night, or transport to take the woman and child/ren to other family members to stay the night. Shaik would work closely with Welfare Departments to follow up on counselling if needed. Later the name changed as yet again the humanitarian work expanded even further :- The Better World Alliance was formed. What do we do?

🟥Message from Shaiks desk.

Good morning all.

I am humbled by the messages of appreciation. Thank you. 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼

I just want to say that I love what I do.

I am a servant of God.
And to serve God I Serve humanity.

We live in a country of great giants Mandela and Gandhi. They have taught us alot and we as South Africans should lead the way to seek justice in this world.

Let us seek justice for the hungry.

Let us seek justice for those with no roof over their head.

Let us seek justice for those with no clothes.

Let us seek justice for those with no education.

Let us seek justice for poorest of the poor.

Let us seek justice for the babies and the elderly and vulnerable people in the community.

Let us seek justice for the animals we share this planet with.

Let's us seek justice for this polluted planet and create a better world.

I could work 24hours a day, every day, to make the world a better place yet sadly, still all my efforts will not fix this world from spiralling out of control. We must do more!!!

My videos and pictures have exposed the many injustices of this world and how we can reach out and touch the lives of others with positive impact.

My videos have brought relief one hand and inspired others with the other hand.

And this brings me to my last, and most important point.

Leaders create leaders.
Let us create leaders and inspire them to continue the good work long after we have departed.

I conclude with my motto.
What good is a man if he cannot change the world.
One small effort at as time.

I love you all.

💦Shaik to distribute fresh clean drinking water to StickFarm to bring relief.

Shaik has said it before and he says it again. . . We are all suffering but the poorest of the poor are suffering the most.

In 2022 Stickfarm has been without water for most of the year. Month after month Shaik makes a request for water tanks etc. However, the situation continues to bring suffering and hardship as people still don't have water.

Tommorow Shaik will be distributing water to StickFarm and Other areas of Hibberdene to bring relief.

Let's us unite and take care of the most vulnerable people in our community.

More updates to follow.

🟥Message from Shaiks desk.

A 91 year old woman protested outside Ugu offices yesterday.

Shaik was there. In an unprecedented move residents of Ramsgate and surrounding decided to take a stand and take action against Ugu municipality in the form of Protest for water woes.

Shaik says "the right to protest is enshrined in the constitution and I am not surprised by this type of action, as the levels of frustration are running high. I have noted for 3 years in a row that there is water interruptions during the festive period, a time when South Coasters depend on tourism. It seems this festive season the people of the South Coast will say a firm NO , to Ugu. Ugu should get into gear quick, if revolt is to be prevented".

Hibberedene does not have water for 3 weeks now and a few minutes ago news just came in that the Domba river pipe burst again, after just being repaired. This means more suffering for residents who have been suffering for over 3 weeks. This is not good. This is not good at all.

🟥Messafe from Shaiks desk.

Alert. Lack of Water in South Coast - Impending crisis.

Greetings fellow Lions,

The aboce video was made as an alert of an impending water crisis if action is not taken by Ugu Municipality and other leaders to bring relief in the next few days.

Let is be clearly recorded that there is plenty of water in the south coast but the problem is delivery of the water to the people by Ugu Municipality.

To further complicate the issue there is no reliable feedback from Ugu on the progress, if any, and this is a concern.

I am already planning some relief but I have not proposed any project at yet I am monitoring , closely, both, the municipalities effort to fix the problem timeously, and also the reaction of the residents in response to ugu. I am waiting for UGU to make good on repairs.

If for any reason, Ugu fails , as they have in the past, then a need may arise to bring relief to the people in the following towns. (And Surrounding).

Hibberdene
Port Shepshstone
Ramsgate

And,

When there is a need in a community, you will find a lion.

Lets keep our finger on the pulse on this developing problem and ready ourselves for possible intervention.

Thank you and kind regards
