Since the fire of February 2024, the leopards at Elandsberg have been elusive but last month the camera trap at Elandskloof captured this image. After comparing the spot pattern to other leopards in the database, we realized that it is a new individual. We hope he stays awhile and that we can capture fuller pictures of him.

[ NERINE HUMILIS ] A strikingly pink display in the otherwise dull, late autumn landscape: masses of Nerine humilis have come up since the recent heavy rains, all along the recently burned mountain side in the Elandsberg Nature Reserve.

Nerine humilis, commonly known as dwarf nerine, is a species of flowering plant in the subfamily Amaryllidoideae of the family Amaryllidaceae, native to the Cape of South Africa.
