Congratulations to our very own Orsella Schneeberger on receiving your ten year Long Service Award! We appreciate all the late nights, planning, last minute changes, support and mentoring that you do for us every single day! 💜⚜️🫡

We would also like to congratulate some of our Scouts who received the Regional Commissioner's Commendation for embodying exactly the Scouts Promise and Law.

Our Scouts were of service to a group of hikers in our mountains at the end of last year, after completing a strenuous hike themselves, pushing through the aches and fatigue, to assist them to their end destination. 💜⚜️🫡

We are extremely honoured and proud that each of you are ours and wear the 1st Hermanus Uniform with such dedication!

Fernkloof Nature Reserve was such a treat this afternoon for the City Nature Challenge 2026 on iNaturalist!

Lemoenkop also had a particular inhabitant that we would rather not name out loud 😬🐍 The adults would much rather say Voldemort and Beetlejuice 10 times . . . Luckily technology has great Zoom capabilities 😵‍💫

So Muizenberg was wet this weekend . . .

Our has never been this determined to have an absolute blast. Although the Western cape weather gave everything it had to defeat us, our came out victorious!

The 1st Hermanus January troop camp was planned and led by Lettuce and his capable staff Hagitha, Mathilda and Triceratops. Scouts had the opportunity to complete their observation Scout craft as well as Scout craft interest badges on camp. The camp was a huge success.

1st Gordon bay and 1st Kirstenhoff also teamed up for a traveller camp at Hawequas planned and led by Madame, and staffed by Hawkings from Hermanus, Keanu from 1st Steenberg and Ieremia from 1st Kirstenhoff. The Scouts learnt about handy knots, pioneering and it's uses, applying the new knowledge by doing campsite development. Scouts cooked food over the fire without utensils, did night hikes, night watch and fitness Scoutcraft requirements. The camp was enjoyed and a huge success.

1st Steenberg and 1st Paarl went to Hawequas, a few for their very 1st time and learnt plenty of skills at Traveller camp, hosted by Madame and her capable staff members. Plenty of fun was had.
