It's FRIDATE | DATE YOUR DESTINY WITH DE’ROCK ❤️

💍 BEFORE YOU SAY “I DO”: LET’S TALK ABOUT “WHAT’S OURS?”

LOVE • MONEY • LAW • TRUST • STEWARDSHIP • LEGACY

ANCHOR STATEMENT:
“DON’T SIGN WHAT YOU HAVEN’T UNDERSTOOD.”

Marriage is more than a romantic relationship. It is a covenant that also carries financial, legal and practical responsibilities.

Love is essential, but love must be accompanied by wisdom, transparency and informed decisions.

THE BIG QUESTION: IN OR OUT OF COMMUNITY OF PROPERTY?

In South Africa, couples generally need to understand three matrimonial property regimes before getting married:

🔹 IN COMMUNITY OF PROPERTY — Spouses generally share a joint estate, including assets and liabilities, subject to applicable law.

🔹 OUT OF COMMUNITY OF PROPERTY WITH ACCRUAL — Spouses generally maintain separate estates, but the growth in their estates during the marriage is taken into account when the marriage ends.

🔹 OUT OF COMMUNITY OF PROPERTY WITHOUT ACCRUAL — Spouses generally retain separate estates, including the growth of their respective estates, subject to applicable law and contractual arrangements.

SO, WHICH ONE IS RIGHT FOR YOU?

The answer depends on your financial circumstances, business interests, responsibilities, expectations and long-term vision as a couple.

SOME QUESTIONS EVERY COUPLE SHOULD DISCUSS BEFORE MARRIAGE:

▪️ What debts and financial obligations are we bringing into this marriage?
▪️ How will we manage our income, expenses and investments?
▪️ What happens if one of us owns a business?
▪️ How will we handle financial responsibilities towards our parents and extended families?
▪️ What happens if one spouse sacrifices a career to raise children or support the other?
▪️ How will we protect our children's future and build a lasting legacy?
▪️ What happens if our marriage ends or one of us passes away?

THE POWER OF ACCRUAL

One spouse may earn a salary while the other raises children, manages the household or supports a business. Both contributions can be valuable to the family's future.

“The person earning the salary is not necessarily the only person creating the wealth.”

THE CHRISTIAN QUESTION: DOES FINANCIAL SEPARATION MEAN WE ARE NOT ONE?

Absolutely not!

“Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh.” — Genesis 2:24

Biblical oneness does not require financial recklessness. Couples can maintain separate accounts, share joint accounts and establish clear financial boundaries while remaining united in covenant, purpose and vision.

What matters is TRANSPARENCY • TRUST • STEWARDSHIP • AGREEMENT.

A WORD OF CAUTION

Never allow wedding preparations to become so exciting that you neglect conversations about debt, property, previous financial obligations, children, maintenance, business risks, inheritance and family responsibilities.

“What you refuse to discuss before marriage may become what you fight about during marriage.”

THE FRIDATE FINANCIAL COVENANT CHALLENGE

Before you say “I DO,” sit down with your partner and complete these statements honestly:

• Before I marry you, I need you to know…
• My greatest financial fear is…
• My financial responsibility to my family is…
• One financial boundary I need us to respect is…
• My vision for our household in 10 years is…

Then answer one question together:

“WHAT ARE WE BUILDING?”

Not merely, “What are you bringing into this marriage?”

But, “WHAT ARE WE BUILDING TOGETHER?”

DATE YOUR DESTINY PRINCIPLE

Don't only date for chemistry.

Date for COVENANT COMPATIBILITY.
Date for CHARACTER.
Date for CAPACITY.
Date for WISDOM.
Date for DESTINY.

Marriage is not only about WHO DO I LOVE?

It is also about:

WHO CAN I BUILD WITH?
WHO CAN I TRUST?
WHO CAN I GROW WITH?
WHO CAN I PLAN WITH?
WHO CAN I BUILD A LEGACY WITH?

COACHING CHALLENGE

BEFORE YOU SAY “I DO,” MAKE SURE YOU HAVE DISCUSSED “WHAT IF?”

Remember: Matrimonial property arrangements have significant legal consequences. Consult an independent South African attorney or notary before choosing and signing an antenuptial contract.

CHRIST ENCOUNTER: BEHOLD THE LAMB!

Jesus said of John the Baptist:

«“Among those that are born of women there is not a greater prophet than John the Baptist…” — Luke 7:28»

What made John great?
Not the amount of information he had about people. Not how accurately he could predict their past, present, or future.

John’s greatness was in his ability to RECOGNIZE WHERE GOD WAS MOVING and point people to Christ.

He saw Jesus and declared:
“BEHOLD THE LAMB OF GOD!”
The depth of the prophetic is not merely in what you know about people—it is in your ability to REVEAL CHRIST TO PEOPLE.
BEHOLD means more than “look.” It is a call to look carefully, recognize, and discern what you are seeing.

The true prophetic does not only see what is present; it discerns what God has placed within what is present.

As Philip declared, “WE HAVE FOUND HIM.”
May our ministry help people not merely encounter a gift, a prophet, or a manifestation—but ENCOUNTER CHRIST.

‎WHEN APOLOGY LEAVES THE HOUSE: Rebuilding Love on Humility
‎
‎Scripture Focus:
‎• Proverbs 16:18 – "Pride goes before destruction, a haughty spirit before a fall."
‎• Ephesians 4:32 – "Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you."
‎
‎Introduction: The Silent Eviction
‎Every relationship and marriage is a house built on love, hope, and shared dreams. But a house is only as strong as its foundation. We often think the greatest threats to a home are external storms—financial stress, family drama, or tragic losses.
‎
‎However, the most dangerous thief doesn't break in from the outside; it is invited in from the inside.
‎
‎The moment Apology is packed up and evicted from a relationship, the house begins to suffer the consequences. When we replace a genuine "I am sorry" with defensiveness, we leave the doors wide open for two destructive tenants to move in: Pride and Ignorance.
‎
‎Point 1: The High Cost of Pride and Ignorance
‎When a mistake is made and we refuse to say "sorry," we think we are protecting our dignity. In reality, we are signing the eviction notice for peace.
‎
‎• Pride tells us we are always right. It values winning the argument over winning the heart of our partner. Pride constructs walls where there should be bridges.
‎• Ignorance blinds us to our partner's pain. It makes us oblivious to the bleeding wounds we cause. Ignorance says, "It’s not a big deal, get over it."
‎
‎Together, pride and ignorance assist a tragic fate. They act as accelerators for resentment. A house cannot stand when it is fueled by the toxic energy of unspoken words and unhealed wounds.
‎
‎Point 2: The Consequence of the Unspoken "Sorry"
‎What happens to a house when Apology leaves?
‎• The Atmosphere sours: Conversations turn into interrogations, and silence becomes a weapon.
‎• The Distance grows: You can sleep in the same bed but feel a million miles apart.
‎• The Structure weakens: Trust erodes. When small cracks are ignored, the whole ceiling eventually collapses.
‎
‎A relationship does not usually die from one massive explosion; it dies from the slow, cold accumulation of a thousand unexpressed apologies.
‎
‎Point 3: The Resurrection Power of a Simple "Sorry"
‎The remedy is deceptively simple, yet incredibly difficult for the human ego. It is the restoration of the words: "I am sorry. I was wrong. Please forgive me."
‎
‎A simple, sincere apology has the power to:
‎• Dismantle Pride: It proves that you value the relationship more than your own ego.
‎• Cure Ignorance: It shows your partner, "I see your pain, I acknowledge my role in it, and I care about how I affected you."
‎• Invite Apology back home: When apology returns, grace, healing, and intimacy move back in with it.
‎
‎Conclusion: Bring Apology Home Tonight
‎Brothers and sisters, look at the state of your house today. Have you driven Apology out the door? Is Pride sitting in your living room, or is Ignorance sleeping in your bed?
‎
‎Do not allow pride to assist the fate of your relationship's destruction. It takes a big person to say "sorry," but it takes a strong marriage to survive without it. Go home, lower your guard, open your heart, and let those healing words rebuild what has been broken.

‎The Trap of the Trending Topic: Why Pastors Must Guard Their Focus Online
‎
‎Every week, a new viral video dominates our feeds. Someone makes a controversial statement, a theological debate ignites on social media. As ministers, the pressure to weigh in can feel overwhelming. We tell ourselves that we need to stay relevant, engage the culture, or defend the truth.
‎
‎But if we aren’t careful, our ministries can slowly and subtly be hijacked by the internet’s algorithms.
‎If your sermon prep is dictated by whatever is trending on Monday morning, you are no longer leading your flock—the internet is.
‎
‎Filtering the Digital Noise
‎
‎The digital world is designed to keep us outraged and engaged. There will always be something to talk about, a new scandal to dissect, or a fresh debate to join. But here is a liberating truth for every pastor and leader:
‎Not every online conversation requires your voice, not every trend deserves your attention, and not every controversy is your assignment.
‎
‎When Paul wrote to Timothy, he didn't tell him to fix every problem in Ephesus all at once. He gave him a specific, grounded command: “Take heed to yourself and to the doctrine. Continue in them” (1 Timothy 4:16).
‎
‎Guard Your Assignment
‎
‎Your primary calling is not to be a commentator on the culture wars. Your calling is to shepherd the specific people God has placed in your care and to preach the timeless truth of the Gospel.
‎When we give our best energy to online arguments, we rob our local churches of the focused, deeply rooted leadership they deserve. We must learn to look at viral controversies and say, "That is not my battle to fight today."
‎
‎Protect your heart from the constant outrage cycle. Protect your message from being watered down by temporary fads. Stay true to the specific mission God gave you, and leave the trending topics to the internet.

WHAT IF YOU’RE LOOKING FOR LOVE, WHEN GOD IS LOOKING FOR PURPOSE?

Here’s something worth thinking about:
Before God gave Adam and Eve romance, He gave them an assignment.

Their relationship was never meant to be the destination. It was part of the journey toward God’s purpose.
Love brings two hearts together.
Purpose gives them somewhere to go.

Genesis 1:28 says:
“Be fruitful and multiply; fill the earth and subdue it.”

So don’t only ask, “Do we love each other?”
Ask:
“What has God called us to build together?”

Because when love is connected to purpose, a relationship can become more than companionship—it can become a Kingdom partnership.

❤️ LOVE IS THE VEHICLE. PURPOSE IS THE DESTINATION.
