Thabang information centre is situated in Hartswater in the Phokwane municipality which consist of 4 towns via Jankempdorp, Ganspan, Hartswater, Pampierstad and the surrounding farm areas. It is situated approximately 150 kilometres north from Kimberley which is the capital of the Northern Cape. It is a rural area and unemployment, alcohol abuse, teenage pregnancies and Hiv/Aids are very rife in t
his area. The community are largely dependent on seasonal jobs from surrounding farms and government for employment. We started the organization in the year 2001.We were only 5 female and 1 male at the beginning. We registered this organization as an NPO in February 2005. To improve better services and life standard to orphans and vulnerable groups. Reduce social crime and substance abuse by implementing programs for abused persons, women, orphans, unemployed people, children, youth, and the vulnerable and disable people. Reduce the level of poverty by providing cooked nutritious meal to the poor of the poorest, to the needy people, unemployed people, orphans, vulnerable groups, the elderly and also to the people living with HIV/AIDS and TB diseases in the farm areas. To ensure greater support and involvement of people living with HIV/AIDS and TB in the community. To improve social functioning of the project. To determine the beneficiaries needs.
