Warden Street Temporary Pothole Repairs

Yesterday the HIT team did temporary pothole repairs in the very busy Warden Street

Thank you to Charl from.VF+ who organised the materials for the team. He also drove with the team to offload the materials as needed.
Thank you Hannes for capturing us at work

It is not always politics
Sometimes we need to realise that helping the community does not need to benefit anyone, except the community itself

We realise that this is only a temporary fix, but sometimes a temporary solution is better than no solution at allšŸ˜‰

Murray Street repairs

The HIT team has repaired some growing potholes in Murray Street on Monday & Tuesday.

We would like to encourage more businesses to join the HIT Residents Association.
Services are not only limited to pothole repairs.
We also do dispute, record keeping, handling of complaints and refuse removal.
All of this is included in the monthly fee.

Thank you to all our current contributing Members
Without you, this would not be possible

Today the New Greater Harrismith Association will be in the North Gauteng High Court.

We wish them well in this process as the outcome will decide if we will be split into our own municipality.

Water leak
Post Office - Piet Retief Street

This water has been reported for quite some time.

The HIT team went to investigate where the water is coming from, just to discover that they have cut off a tap and never properly closed the tap.

Together with CC Plumbing, the pipe has been closed to prevent any further water wastage and damage.

When water keeps flowing, it is not only wasteful, but causes structural damage to buildings, roads and ground.

We need to keep doing our part to prevent further deterioration of our town

This is a great example of why storm drains should be kept functioning.

The drain is blocked
There are cables blocking access to clean the drain..
Water is now flooding the road and damaging the road surface because it cannot dry properly.

Adding to the cause, a burst water pipe is supplying a constant stream of clean water to this corner
The water pipe has already been reported to the municipality 3weeks ago, but still no repairs are being made.

It started with 1 problem and now it has turned into a few problems

Thank you Hannes Van Reenen for the footage.

Today our HIT Team repaired 2 large potholes at the entrance of the SAPS Station.
They holes were getting larger and making it difficult for the vehicles to enter and leave the premises

The team also repaired some other potholes in Piet Retief Street while they were busy in the area.

The other half of our team was busy collecting refuse from our HIT Members.
