The Care for Child Organization will be hosting a 3rd annual charity event. The organization as a non-profit organization (duly registered with the Department of Social Development - Reg. No. 180-913 NPO) relies solely on donations and funding from partners for planning and hosting charity events. To this end, we are still looking for sponsorships to sustainably fund our operations into a foreseeable future.
These charity events’ sole purpose is to raise funds and donations aimed at assisting household and individuals that are below the poverty line (wherein affordability of basic needs is a serious challenge). This event will comprise of various fun-filled activities, which include a 5km color fun walk/run, Soccer and netball tournaments, indigenous games, to mention but a few. In order for persons to participate in the fun run/walk, an admin fee of R30.00 must be paid. Those that wish to buy a T-shirt should provide a size and pay an amount of R250.00 (for the ticket and the T-shirt).
For this year’s event, the organization is taking a different posture in terms of identifying beneficiaries. We have issued a letter to the respective ward Councilor to assist with, amongst others, identification of prospective beneficiaries to which the donations can be distributed, as they have a better understanding and knowledge of needy households within their area of responsibility.
This year’s charity event will be held as follows:
● Date: Saturday, 28 September 2024
● Time: 6am to 6pm
● Place: Lepono Primary School soccer field - Mathibestad
It is on this background that anyone is requested to consider donation the event with the following:
1) School shoes
2) Canned food
3) Powder Soap
4) Toiletries
5) Sanitary Towels
