Midrand Forum’s Environmental Network (MIDFEN)

Midrand Forum’s Environmental Network (MIDFEN) Crouch, Touch, Pause, Engage ! SA’s 2011 Rugby season has come to a grinding halt with the controversial exit of the Springboks from the World Cup.

Wouldn’t it be great if we were able to harness all of our “Player 23” rugby spirit and focus it into environmental awareness? The Midrand Forum’s Environmental Network (MIDFEN) is the ideal field for all the “Greenies” in the community to scrum down and to start making a greener Midrand. We regularly need to “crouch” down and check the size of the footprints we are leaving behind on Mother Earth.

As in rugby where teamwork is the key to success, the management of these footprints is a team effort. MIDFEN will be the ideal platform to bring together our community’s “green champions” to tackle this challenge. MIDFEN will provide the perfect means of keeping in “touch”. Communication. People talking to one another, sharing ideas & experiences, contributing to community education & projects and finding solutions. Do you know your neighbours ? There is no “pause” button in MIDFEN’s game plan. Without a Green Midrand, we won’t be able to successfully market Midrand as a ‘Grand’ meeting, business and lifestyle destination. There will be no “Spark”. Having all the players in the Midrand “engage” in interactive “sectorial networks”, where environmental awareness is an integral part, is going to be the key to attracting & keeping revenue in Midrand.
