The Cape Cultural Collective is a non-racial, non-sexist inter-generational cultural movement promoting social activism and reflecting on history and memory. CCC is engaged in a range of projects including the highly successful Rosa Choir and the cultural development of community groups. We hold monthly cultural programmes and we also facilitate cultural performances for a range of organisations.

A group of our poets performed at the Paris Autumn Festival in October 2013. CCC has hosted successful monthly cultural programmes for close to seven years. Objectives:
• dedicated to the promotion and development of an inter-generational cultural, performance and learning space.
• development of a creative space where participants can project /their ideas, creativity, identity and share these with others
• develop an environment that is critical and supportive of debate
• work towards material outcomes that support community projects
• promote social and cultural activism
• focus on both historical and contemporary issues
• promote different art and creative forms

At the previous Writers Club workshop, participants enjoyed a Creative Writing and Poetry Workshop at Mowbray Library, facilitated by award-winning and published poet Frank Meintjies.

The session encouraged participants to dig deeper into their writing by exploring synonyms and discovering how different word choices can shape meaning and strengthen the overall message. Participants also had the opportunity to collaborate, write, and share their work with the group.

Join us for the next workshop on 6 June, facilitated by Russell Dudley, focusing on the art of Haiku writing. RSVP details can be found on the poster.

We've been posting about our Kids Performing Arts Collective (K-PAC) — now you can finally see it in action. 🎶

Every Saturday morning, over 30 children from Red River, Bridgeville and Xolani Primary Schools come together at Bridgeville Primary School in Athlone to sing, move and grow.

What's moved us most is something you can't plan. Early on, the children sat apart, divided by their respective community – Athlone, Manenberg, Gugulethu. Now they play, eat and perform together, singing in English, Afrikaans and Xhosa. We witness Ubuntu in action every Saturday.

K-PAC runs because people show up: volunteers helping with transport, meals and keeping every child safe and welcome. We need more of those people.

Here's how you can help: 🍱 Donate halal meals or snacks 🙌 Volunteer on a Saturday during school terms in Athlone 💛 Make a financial contribution📩 [email protected] Or message us on any of our official channels.
