The Conty Lebepe Foundation acknowledges the intentions of establishment of the ADHOC Committee by the ANC to investigate serious corruption allegations against Dr Timothy Maake in the Limpopo Legislature.

However, we are deeply concerned about the timing. In 2025, we formally reported corruption allegations against Dr Timothy Maake and Dr Makoma Makhurupetji to Limpopo ANC Secretary Mr Reuben Madadze.

To date, we have received no feedback. Forming a committee now, on the eve of the 4 November elections, suggests political expediency rather than genuine commitment to accountability.

We call on the ANC to act decisively and transparently, not only when elections approach. Limpopo residents deserve respect and honesty.

Chair Madlanga stated:

“General Masemola ought not to have been lumped together with all these people charged with fraud and corruption. It was meant to embarrass him and make the public think that he was also corrupt. He has suffered prejudice.”

Those remarks reflect the Chair’s view during the Commission’s proceedings. Whether General Masemola pursues any civil action is ultimately a decision for him and his legal advisers.

NPA Secures R326 Million Forfeiture Order In Tembisa Hospital Corruption Scandal

PRETORIA – The National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) has obtained a forfeiture order to seize assets worth R326 million belonging to the Maumela syndicate.

The seizure is in connection with the ongoing Tembisa Hospital corruption scandal. According to the NPA, the order targets properties, vehicles, and financial holdings allegedly linked to fraudulent procurement and money laundering at the hospital.

Investigators say the assets were identified as proceeds of crime tied to inflated contracts and irregular payments made during the COVID-19 period.

The Hangwani Maumela has previously been implicated in investigations into the looting of public health funds at Tembisa Hospital. The NPA says the forfeiture forms part of its efforts to recover state funds and hold those responsible accountable.
