EXCITING NEW CHAPTER: The Birth of LIV Eastern Cape!
(By Michelle Reddy / LIV EC Executive Director)
“A heart for the most vulnerable kids in our country and an ambition to be part of the solution — this is the magnet that drew a team together and resulted in a merging of visions.
In 2019, my family and I were introduced to LIV by Lara Embling when she did a presentation at our church’s Ladies Conference. Having just taken a sabbatical from a street ministry we had been doing for five years prior, we were waiting on God for the next step and for a more permanent solution than just feeding precious souls physically and spiritually, only to leave them in a cycle that seemed unbreakable to them.
When I saw the images of the LIV Village in Durban, my heart skipped a beat and I knew that this was the solution. Ever since then, we have been involved with LIV and have been pursuing a dream to start a village in PE.
In September 2025, at the LIV leaders’ retreat, Gogo Joan had a sense that Grahamstown and PE should come together to become LIV Eastern Cape (LIV EC). Lara had been feeling the same for a while and was praying for confirmation. With much prayer, careful consideration, and many conversations, we are forging ahead as LIV EC.
We are eternally grateful that the Lord orders our steps. We will continue to be obedient to the call and listen for His voice, as 2026 will be the dawn of a new entity that will impact the Eastern Cape with the love of Jesus.”
