Steven Gruzd was a champion of the APRM process. We have lost a quiet leader and authority on what is needed to enhance governance across the African continent. Our condolences to his family and close friends.

Long before he became a heavyweight in international relations, Steven Gruzd was a child prodigy who conquered the world of competitive Scrabble. Following his tragic passing, friends and colleagues share stories of a man who was always kind and who never gave up on a game. A man who left a lasting impression on everyone he met.

South Africa’s scores show an increase in state-embedded actors that are able to advance criminality and reduce resilience.

The index makes various recommendations and shows how small changes in key resilience measures can have significant effects to reduce criminality by state-embedded actors and others.

Based on the 2019 ENACT Organised Crime Index for Africa, the Global Organized Crime Index is a key flagship project of the Global Initiative Against Transnational Organized Crime.

Pedestrians approaching Settlers Hospital entrance have to avoid these 2 exposed manholes which have remained in this neglected state for more than a year with no action taken by Makana Local Municipality.

These exposed manholes could result in severe injury to people and animals. It’s only a matter of time before there is an incident and a personal injury claim against the Municipality.
