Students' Organisation for Animal Rights A UCKAR affiliated society, providing members with the opportunity to get involved in helping animals in and around Grahamstown.

Students Organisation for Animal Rights (SOAR), previously known as* Rhodes Organisation for Animal Rights (ROAR), aims to create a greater awareness of animal rights issues. We do this by hosting talks and documentary screenings and involving ourselves with various animal rights activism matters. We provide practical opportunities for society members to improve the welfare of local animals in th

e Grahamstown community. This includes regular SPCA volunteering visits, involvement with the Feral Cat Project, visiting donkey clinics, fundraising, and much more.

*We are in the process of changing our society's name, as we do not wish to affiliate ourselves with Cecil Rhodes.
