The increasing unemployment rate remains a serious concern. Seeing our brothers, sisters, mothers, and fathers standing by the roadside in search of work is truly heart-wrenching. Many spend hours waiting for an opportunity, often going through the entire day without food.

In response to this reality, Brother Luzuko Hlahlana (District Coordinator) at this yearโ€™s District Children & Youth Synod issued a call for us, as a community, to go to the other side, to step out and serve those in need. Answering this call, the Wesley Guilders of Circuit 316 took the initiative to host a โ€œOne Heart Serveโ€ soup kitchen drive. This act of service was aimed at reminding those affected that they are seen, remembered, and cared for, during this difficult time of pain and uncertainty.

Sister Gowana also shared words of encouragement, urging them never to lose hope, for God never forsakes His people.

As a community, we are reminded that even the smallest acts of kindness can bring light into someoneโ€™s darkest moments. Let us continue to stand together, extend love, and be the hands and feet of Christ. In doing so, we not only meet physical needs but also restore hope, dignity, and faith in the hearts of those we serve.

One Heart, One Way.๐Ÿ™๐Ÿฝ๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿ’›๐Ÿค

"The hymn that starts with the first letter of my name!"๐ŸŽต

Led by Sr. Myoli, this delightful game had us digging into our Methodist Xhosa hymn books to find and sing hymns starting with the first letter of our names. We discovered hymns we rarely hear and belted out our favorites together!๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿ’›๐Ÿค

โ€œ Keeping Up With Rev โ€œ

A relaxed, open, and honest Q&A session with the Reverend, Rev Tshepo Modiakgotla . Getting to know him and hear his perspective and views on specific topics over an indoor picnic set up atmosphere was truly refreshing and created a relaxed and enjoyable environment for everyone. ๐Ÿ’™

"Name, Book, or Both?" Challenge

Led by Sr. Myoli, this fast-paced game kept the Bible knowledge test rolling. She'd call out a Bible name, and teams had to quickly indicate if it was just a character, just a book, or both, sharpening our quick thinking and scriptural smarts.

โ€œName a book in the Bible that starts with the letterโ€ฆโ€

The first game, led by Sr. Ngendane, split us into two teams for a fast-paced challenge testing our knowledge of the Bible's book names. Laughter and friendly competition filled the air as we raced to shout out answers!

What an incredible time we had this past Saturday as the Wesley Guild hosted a โ€œKeeping up with the Rev โ€ afternoon. Where the entire youth ministry was invited!

We got to know Rev. Tshepo Modiakgotla beyond the pulpit in a day defined by honesty, laughter, and genuine connection.

The Secretary, Sr. Ngendane, opened the day with a prayer and the purpose of the day. She then led us into a "Get to Know Me, to Get to Know You" icebreaker which was a beautiful moment of vulnerability as everyone shared a bit of their background and heart with the group.

To keep the energy high, we played interactive games that tested our Bible knowledge and hymn-singing skills! It was the perfect way to loosen up and set the stage for our main event, A relaxed, open, and honest Q&A session with the Reverend. Getting to know him and hear his perspective and views on specific topics over an indoor picnic set up atmosphere was truly refreshing and created a relaxed and enjoyable environment for everyone.

We wrapped up the afternoon with a closing prayer by Rev. Modiakgotla, leaving us all feeling inspired and refreshed and looking forward to the year ahead.

A huge thank you to everyone who pulled up with their squad to make the day so special. We are truly "Relocated by Godโ€™s Mercy" and stepping towards the other side together! ๐Ÿ‘ฃ
