Our School Outreach Team had a wonderful opportunity to host a Child Protection Awareness Programme at Kwelerha Primary School. The event was aimed at educating and empowering learners about their rights, personal safety, and the importance of speaking out when they feel unsafe.

We were honoured to be joined by representatives from SAPS, SANCA, CMR, and the Department of Correctional Services, who shared valuable information and guidance with the learners.

The programme encouraged children to understand their rights, recognize unsafe situations, and know that it is important to report any form of abuse, neglect, or danger to a trusted adult or relevant authorities.

Together, we are building safer communities by empowering our children with knowledge, confidence, and the support they need to thrive.

A heartfelt thank you to all our partners and stakeholders for making this event a success.

Child Protection Month reminds us that every child deserves to feel safe, heard, loved, and protected.

Behind every smile can be a child carrying fear, hurt, or silence. It is our responsibility as adults, families, schools, and communities to notice, listen, and act.

Children do not always have the words to explain abuse, neglect, or trauma โ€” sometimes their behaviour, drawings, fears, or silence tell the story instead.

Let us create spaces where children feel safe enough to speak, safe enough to cry, and safe enough to simply be children.

Protecting children is not a once-off conversation. It is a daily commitment.

๐ŸŒฑ CATCH Food Security Project ๐ŸŒฑ

The CATCH Food Security Project began soon after the organisation received its 3.8-hectare property as a generous gift from Mercedes Benz in 2003. In early 2004, the CATCH team, together with volunteers, established 30 beautiful round gardens called โ€œMandalasโ€ โ€” a gardening method inspired by Australia.

Vulnerable families from Mzamomhle were invited to grow organic vegetables to help improve nutrition and create sustainable food sources for their families. Over the years, the project continued to grow with the support of partners such as Trees for Africa, who provided important training and guidance.

A special greenhouse, lovingly called the โ€œCathedral,โ€ was built by a Methodist Church minister using cane and plastic. Cocktail tomatoes grown in this greenhouse were sold to retailers, and the profits helped provide a salary for the Garden Caretaker.

Today, the Food Security Project provides space for 162 women to grow vegetables and support the nutritional needs of their children and families.
The project also provides counselling and support for wellbeing, empowerment, and food security awareness. Each woman also receives a food voucher to assist their households.

Our social workers continue to educate and empower these amazing women on important topics such as autism awareness, child protection and parenting so they can share knowledge within their communities. As the saying goes, โ€œIt takes a village to raise a child.โ€

We are incredibly proud of our garden team and all the women involved for their hard work, dedication, and commitment to building stronger and healthier communities. ๐Ÿ’š๐ŸŒ

๐ŸŒ Autism Awareness at CATCH Projects ๐Ÿ’™๐ŸŒˆ

Today at CATCH Projects, we had a powerful and educational session about autism awareness. Our focus is always on supporting children, and today we took a step forward in understanding how to better care for and include children living with autism.

We learned that every child is unique and deserves love, patience, and support. This session helped us understand how to communicate better and create a safe, inclusive environment for all.

At CATCH Projects, we stand for every child. Together, we are building a community where no one is left behind. ๐Ÿ’™๐ŸŒˆ

Today, CATCH Projects had the honour of welcoming Mamas Marita and Silvia from Kinderfonds Mamas for a project visit. Our Director, Mama Delight, together with our dedicated staff, warmly received them and proudly shared the impactful work being done in Mzamomhle and Tikinini.

It is always meaningful when donors who support us take the time to visit and experience firsthand the programs we run for children, youth, and adults in our communities.

Your presence not only strengthens our mission but also uplifts and encourages our team, who continue to serve with passion and commitment every day.

At CATCH Projects, we remain dedicated to creating positive change through our various programs. We are inspired by the stories of growth, resilience, and hope we witness dailyโ€”whether through exciting activities, heartfelt testimonies, or overcoming the challenges we face together as a community.

To our staff: your hard work, compassion, and dedication do not go unnoticed. You are the driving force behind every success story, and we are incredibly proud of the difference you make.

To our supporters and community: your belief in our work keeps us moving forward. Together, we are building a brighter future.

A heartfelt thank you to Kinderfonds Mamas and Mamas Alliance for your visit, your support, and your continued encouragement. We look forward to many more moments of shared impact.

We are so incredibly proud to welcome back Shuma from her journey to Northern Ireland! ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ช

Yesterday wasn't just about practice; it was about perspective. Shuma sat down with the team to share her international experience the challenges, the triumphs, and the lessons learned on the global stage.

Looking at the faces of our younger players, you could see the spark. They now know that with hard work, the world is within their reach. If she can do it, they can too!

Everything is possible.
