FIRE SAFETY YOU CAN TRUST

BE PROACTIVE – EDUCATE YOUR CLIENTS
Clients should know exactly what to request before allowing any servicing of fire equipment:

• A current SANS 1475 permit for the company (Applicable to extinguishers, hose reels, and hydrants – not Detection or Gas Suppression)

• For D&GS: the technician must carry the appropriate Registration Card

• A valid SAQCC Fire registration card for the technician on site The card must clearly display:

• Technician photograph

• ID number

• Expiry date

• Registration number

• Company name matching the service provider

If end users consistently insisted on these basic checks, the number of illegal operators would reduce significantly. Compliance protects your clients, your business, and ultimately the credibility of the industry

JAKES MALATSE

Mr Jakes Malatse, Director of Electrical and Mechanical
Engineering at the Department of Employment and
Labour, will be retiring at the end of April.

Mr Malatse has played a key role in supporting our
mandate to register competent persons and has engaged
extensively with the industry over the years. Many will
recognise him from roadshows, where he consistently
demonstrated his support for our initiatives.

We thank him for his contribution and wish him a long,
healthy, and happy retirement
