🌸 A Spring Day Lunch at GSC! 🌸

Yesterday, 3 September, GSC celebrated Spring Day with a delicious lunch! 🌷☀️

Of course, being in George, Mother Nature had her own plans… 😂🌧️ Instead of sunshine and spring temperatures, we were treated to some good old cold and wet George weather! But that certainly didn’t dampen our spirits, or our appetites!

We enjoyed a wonderful spread of delicious food, good company and plenty of warmth and cheer around the table.

A special thank you to Natalie and her amazing kitchen team for all the hard work, care and effort that went into preparing our lovely Spring Day lunch. 👩‍🍳 Your delicious food and the love you put into what you do is truly appreciated!

Because even when George gives us rain instead of sunshine, we can always create our own sunshine with good food, laughter and wonderful company.

🌸🍽️ A SPECIAL DAY FOR OUR SENIOR CITIZENS 🍽️🌸

It was that time of the year again!

The Joint Service Clubs in George once again came together to host the much-loved Pensioners Lunch at the MOTH Hall, a very special occasion dedicated to celebrating and spoiling some of the wonderful senior citizens in our community. 🌷

And what a wonderful day it was!

Our residents enjoyed a delicious meal, wonderful company, plenty of laughter and those simple moments that make an event like this so meaningful. Seeing the smiles around the tables was a beautiful reminder of just how special it is when our community comes together.

A heartfelt THANK YOU to all the Service Clubs in George who worked together to make this special event possible. Your generosity, time, effort and commitment to our senior citizens are truly appreciated. 🌸

Events like these are about so much more than a meal, they are about connection, kindness, friendship and making our residents feel valued and celebrated. 💕

Thank you for giving our residents a day filled with good food, good company and beautiful memories. We are incredibly grateful for each and every person who played a part in making the Pensioners Lunch such a success. 🌷❤️

🌸🧁 A Sweet Women’s Day Celebration at GSC! 🧁🌸

Today we had the pleasure of celebrating the wonderful women across our GSC complexes with a little sweetness and a whole lot of love!

A very special thank you to Charles Rowe, member of the GSC Board, for arranging the beautiful cupcakes for our residents. Your thoughtfulness and generosity helped make our Women’s Day celebration extra special.

And a heartfelt thank you to Ben de Villiers for helping us hand out the cupcakes and bringing some extra smiles to our ladies today.

It was lovely seeing so many happy faces and sharing a small moment of appreciation with the incredible women who make our GSC community so special.

Celebrating Mariza van der Merwe's Retirement! 🎉

The GSC management team recently gathered for a wonderful breakfast farewell to celebrate our amazing manager, Mariza van der Merwe, as she embarks on her well-deserved retirement!

From managing beautiful chaos to leading with dedication, Mariza has been an absolute pillar of strength for all of us.

We celebrated her incredible journey with delicious food, lots of laughs, and plenty of fond memories shared with the team.

Thank you, Mariza, for everything you have done.

🍲🥣 Soup, Sherry & Great Company at RLR! 🍷❤️

On Friday, 18 July, our RLR residents gathered for a wonderful Soup and Sherry Evening, filled with delicious homemade soup, a warming glass of sherry, and even better company.

There was plenty of laughter, conversation, and friendship shared around the tables as everyone enjoyed spending time together on a chilly winter's evening. Moments like these remind us that it's not just the food that warms the heart, but the friendships and sense of community we share.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who helped make the evening so special. We look forward to many more memorable gatherings together!

❤️ Thank You for Helping Us Make a Difference ❤️

A heartfelt thank you to the wonderful residents and staff of George Service Clubs for your generous donations in support of our Mandela Day initiative.

Today, we had the privilege of delivering your donations, along with hotdogs, to the George Night Shelter. We were warmly welcomed by Rina Smit, shelter manager and residents, who were genuinely grateful for your kindness and generosity.

The George Night Shelter is so much more than a place to sleep. It provides a safe environment where people receive warm meals, support, and an opportunity to rebuild their lives with dignity and hope. Seeing the incredible work being done there was both humbling and inspiring.

One of the highlights of our visit was admiring the beautiful new murals throughout the shelter. The colorful artwork has transformed the space into one that feels warm, welcoming and filled with hope, creating a sense of pride and belonging for everyone who lives there.

Your donations will help support the important work the shelter does every day, and your generosity reminded its residents that their community cares.

Thank you to everyone who contributed and helped make our Mandela Day initiative such a success. Together, we are making a meaningful difference in the lives of others.

🧶💝 Spreading Warmth, One Stitch at a Time 💝🧶

Our incredible RLR Knitwit Ladies have once again shown the true meaning of kindness and community spirit by donating a beautiful collection of hand-knitted beanies, scarves, blankets, jerseys and other warm clothing to a local crèche.

Seeing the excitement on the children's faces as they received these lovingly handmade gifts was truly heartwarming. Every item was created with care, dedication and love, bringing warmth and comfort to little ones during the winter season.

A very special thank you goes to Farida Bada from Kismet Yarns for her incredibly generous donation of wool to our RLR Knitwit Ladies. Your kindness and support make it possible for our talented knitters to continue creating these beautiful handmade items and reaching out to our community. Your generosity is sincerely appreciated.

To our amazing Knitwit Ladies, thank you for the countless hours you spend knitting with such passion and purpose. Your generosity continues to touch lives and reminds us that even the smallest act of kindness can make a lasting difference.
