🌻🎉 RLR BAZAAR — WHAT A WONDERFUL DAY! 🎉🌻

Saturday, 10 October, was filled with fun, laughter, great music and a lovely atmosphere at our RLR Bazaar!

With live music 🎶, plenty to see and enjoy, and so many people coming together, it was a fantastic day and a great success!

A big thank you to everyone who came out to support us, to our stallholders, and to everyone who worked behind the scenes to make the day possible. Your support, time and effort helped make this bazaar such a special occasion.

It’s days like these that remind us how wonderful it is when a community comes together. Thank you for being part of it and helping make our RLR Bazaar a success!

Good company, good music and wonderful memories, what more could we ask for?

🌻🧠🏆 WEEK OF OLDER PERSONS — DAY 4: INTERHOUSE QUIZ! 🏆🧠🌻

What an afternoon of teamwork, laughter, friendly competition and some serious brainpower!

Our GSC residents came together at RLR for our Interhouse Quiz, with Murray House hoping to hold on to the trophy for a third consecutive year. 🏆

But this year, there was a new champion!

CONGRATULATIONS TO RLR — OUR 2026 INTERHOUSE QUIZ CHAMPIONS!

After two years of Murray House holding the trophy, RLR rose to the challenge and took it home! Well done to the winning team, enjoy your well-deserved moment of glory! 😄👏

A big thank you to all our residents who participated and made the afternoon so special. The real win was seeing everyone come together, cheer one another on and enjoy the fun of being part of our GSC family.

Because Week of Older Persons is about more than activities and celebrations. It's about recognising the wonderful people who make our community what it is.

☕🍰 A lovely afternoon filled with good company and sweet treats!

Our Murray House residents enjoyed a special afternoon with the residents of Kay Barron, sharing coffee and tea, delicious cake and treats, and some wonderful moments together. 🥰

Sometimes, happiness is as simple as sitting together, enjoying a cup of tea, sharing a slice of cake and having a good chat. ❤️

A beautiful afternoon of friendship, laughter and togetherness, just the way we like it! 🌻☕🍰

RLR Bazaar on Saturday 10 October

Georgians are invited to the RLR Retirement Centre’s bazaar on Saturday 10 October from 08:00 to 12:00. Visitors can look forward to a morning of shopping and treats, with a tea garden, jewellery, plants, books, knitwear, pre-loved clothing, homemade jams, cakes, bazaar puddings and boerewors rolls on offer. Everyone is welcome to attend and enjoy the morning with family and friends. The centre is located at 21 De La Fontaine Street.

🌙🩷 PAJAMAS, SMILES & A WHOLE LOT OF FUN! 🩷🌙

What better way to kick off Week of the Older Persons than with a good old Pajama Day! 😴🧸🌻

Our residents embraced the fun today, swapping their everyday outfits for cosy pyjamas, comfy slippers and plenty of smiles!

Our residents proved that you’re never too old to have a little fun and make memories together.

Pajama Day was the perfect reminder that growing older doesn’t mean growing out of the fun, it simply means having more stories to tell, more reasons to laugh, and more moments to celebrate!

And judging by today’s smiles… we’re definitely going to have a week to remember!

Here’s to celebrating our incredible residents, their wisdom, their stories, their strength, their laughter and the wonderful people they are.

You are loved. You are valued. You matter. 🩷🌻

🩷 FILL YOUR CUP 🩷

Yesterday, 1 October, some of our wonderful GSC carers had the opportunity to attend a “Fill Your Cup” workshop, hosted by CANSA Care Outeniqua Oncology and presented by Tracey Yates. 🌸

It was a wonderful, successful and enjoyable day filled with connection, encouragement, learning and moments to simply pause and focus on themselves. 🫶✨

Our carers spend their days giving care, compassion and support to others, so it was beautiful to see them taking some time to fill their own cups too.

A huge thank you to CANSA Care Outeniqua Oncology and Tracey Yates for creating such a meaningful and uplifting experience for our team. 🌻

Because those who care for others deserve to be cared for too.

🎉🌷 CELEBRATING 90 AMAZING YEARS! 🌷🎉

Yesterday, 24 September, the RLR residents had the wonderful privilege of celebrating two truly amazing ladies, Dawn Logue and Dorothy Oldewage, as they both reached the incredible milestone of 90 years! 🥳🎂💐

Although their actual birthdays were earlier, yesterday was the perfect opportunity to come together and celebrate these two remarkable women surrounded by friends, fellow residents, love and plenty of smiles. ❤️

90 years of life… 90 years of memories, stories, laughter, love and countless special moments. What a beautiful milestone to celebrate! 🥂✨

Dawn and Dorothy, may you both continue to be blessed with many more happy moments, treasured memories, good health and lots of reasons to smile. 🌸
