Good Day, Community of

Groblersdal, Naboom, Bela-Bela, Nylstroom, Tuinplaas, Mahwelereng, Sterkrivier, Pienaarsrivier, Settlers, Zebediela and other areas in between.

We are proud to introduce our Trainee Field Officer, Bradley Maphuruma

New source of hope and growth for the Mokopane SPCA. πŸ¦πŸΆπŸ΄πŸ¦‰

Bradley has been part of the Mokopane SPCA family since 2024, serving as a dedicated volunteer and helping care for the animals at our pound on a regular basis. His commitment, compassion, and willingness to serve have made a real difference in the lives of many animals.

Now it is time for the next step.

As a Trainee Field Officer, Bradley will play an important role in animal welfare education, community outreach, and assisting animals that are neglected, abandoned, abused, or in need of protection. He will work alongside our team to help create a safer and more caring environment for animals throughout our community.

With more animals needing assistance comes greater responsibility, a stronger presence in our communities, and the need for more equipment and resources to continue our work effectively.

Together, we will continue to stand up for those who cannot speak for themselves.

Welcome, Bradley!

The future of animal welfare in area of operations is built by people who care, and we will never back down from our mission to protect animals and serve our community. πŸΎπŸ’™

The Mokopane community is stronger than you may think.

The SPCA is incredibly grateful for the effort and commitment that went into making this generous donation possible.

A heartfelt thank you to Luciano Dias, the Petzone Mokopane team, and everyone involved behind the scenes for helping make a real difference in the lives of the animals in our care.

A special thank you to for your kindness and generosity towards the SPCA. Your support helps us provide better care, full tummies, and happier days for the dogs at our pound.

Happy dogs, happy staff, and a grateful SPCA.

πŸ‘ NOTICE TO THE PUBLIC – QURBANI 🐐

The SPCA would like to respectfully inform the public that during the upcoming week of Qurbani / Eid al-Adha, members of the Muslim community may temporarily keep animals on private premises within town areas as part of a religious observance.

2026 May 27 until 30

South African law does make provision for religious and cultural slaughter under specific conditions, including for private consumption and religious practices. However, all animal welfare legislation and municipal bylaws remain applicable at all times.

We kindly ask the public to approach this period with understanding, respect, and compassion toward one another.

At the same time, the SPCA wishes to remind all parties that animal welfare remains extremely important. Animals must:

β€’ Be treated with kindness and care

β€’ Have access to suitable shelter, food, and clean water

β€’ Be handled humanely at all times

β€’ Not be caused unnecessary suffering

β€’ Be kept in a safe and hygienic environment

The disposal of waste and remains must also comply with municipal health regulations to ensure public health and sanitation.

Remembering that compassion toward animals is a responsibility shared by all.

Should members of the public witness clear cruelty, neglect, or unlawful treatment of animals, these matters can still be reported to the SPCA for investigation.

Thank you for your cooperation, understanding, and kindness.

β€” SPCA Mokopane.

The biggest thank you we could ever give is for the food donations that have arrived lately. We are beyond grateful. ❀️🐾

Thank you to every single person who donated when we asked for help. Because of your kindness and support, our storeroom is finally looking full again and the food received should last us at least a few months.

Your donations have lifted such a huge burden off our shoulders.

Thank you for standing with the SPCA, for caring, and for helping us continue to care for the animals who depend on us every single day.

We appreciate each and every donation, share, and kind heart more than words can say. 🐢🐱

🚨 URGENT APPEAL 🚨 payment link attached!

Our team has been operating non-stop β€” attending to unwanted animal collections, cruelty complaints, emergencies, rescues, and welfare cases daily, often without receiving any donations towards these costs.

At this moment, we find ourselves in a very difficult position. We urgently need more than R30 000 to cover staff salaries and our petrol account so that we can continue helping animals in need throughout the month.

If 120 kind-hearted people could each donate just R250, we will be able to get through this difficult period and continue our work for the animals who depend on us every single day. 🐾❀️

Every contribution, no matter how small, truly makes a difference.

Thank you for standing with us, supporting our staff, and helping us continue saving lives. πŸ™

🐾❀️ LOOKING FOR A FOREVER HOME ❀️🐾

These two beautiful were sadly surrendered to the SPCA due to financial difficulties and their family having to move. This was not an easy decision, but now we want to give them the opportunity to find a stable and loving forever home once again.

They are estimated to be around 2 years old and are slowly opening their hearts while settling into the SPCA environment. They are intelligent, loyal, loving, and still have so much life and love to give.

German Shepherds are an incredible breed that require time, commitment, proper care, and understanding. Because of this, a strict adoption process will apply to ensure they are placed in the right home where they will be safe, loved, and properly cared for for the rest of their lives.

We are looking for families who understand the responsibility of owning this breed and who are ready to give them the second chance they truly deserve. πŸ–€πŸΎ
