Mental Health Door-to-Door: Ga-Madiseng, Mashemong💚
Today the Push and Reach Movement, a Limpopo-based organization, led door-to-door mental health visits in Ga-Madiseng, Mashemong.
This programme was founded by Sassita, in collaboration with TMG as service provider, and supported by stakeholders including Sekhukhune District Special Programme, Humana, and Department of Social Development.
Using household questionnaires, our teams listened to real stories behind closed doors.
What we found:
1. Urgent need: We encountered community members who are deeply struggling, including people with suicidal thoughts. Immediate referrals to professional support were made.
2. Unemployment link : Many people shared that not having work is a major cause of their stress, anxiety, and mental breakdown.
3. Community strength Ga-Madiseng welcomed us with overwhelming love and openness. The warmth we received was incredible.
Mental health is not just in clinics , it’s in our homes, our streets, and our joblessness.
Thank you to TMG, Sasita, Sekhukhune District Special Programme, Humana, Social Development, and every household that trusted us with their story.
