🚨 IMPORTANT WARNING TO ALL PET OWNERS 🚨
Distemper Cases Confirmed Recently
We urgently want to inform all pet owners that there have been a few positive cases of Canine Distemper reported in the last few weeks. This is a serious and often fatal disease, and we cannot stress enough how important it is to ensure your pets are fully vaccinated and up to date.
🐾 Why Vaccination Matters
Distemper is a highly contagious virus that attacks a dog’s respiratory, digestive, and nervous system. Vaccination is the only effective prevention and protects not only your own dog, but also the entire community’s pets.
💉 Please check your pet’s vaccination status
Even if your dog was vaccinated as a puppy, booster shots are essential to maintain protection. Dogs who miss vaccinations are at much higher risk of infection.
⚠️ Symptoms to Look Out For
Distemper can start with mild signs, but it progresses quickly. Watch for:
• Fever
• Runny nose and watery eyes
• Coughing or difficulty breathing
• Vomiting and diarrhea
• Loss of appetite and lethargy
• Twitching, seizures, or abnormal movements (in severe cases)
📌 How Contagious Is Distemper?
Distemper spreads very easily through:
• Coughing and sneezing
• Shared water bowls or food bowls
• Direct contact with infected animals
• Contaminated surfaces and environments
One infected dog can spread the virus rapidly, especially in areas where dogs interact often.
🙏 Please don’t wait until it’s too late
If your dog is not vaccinated or overdue, contact your vet immediately. Early prevention saves lives.
Let’s work together to keep our pets safe.
Vaccinate. Protect. Prevent. 🐶❤️
