LIAM MCCARTHY EARNS IRELAND TEST CAP
Congratulations to Liam McCarthy (2020) on achieving a major milestone in his cricketing career with his call-up to the Irish national cricket team and his Test debut against New Zealand in May 2026.

He made an immediate impact on the international stage, claiming his maiden Test wicket in remarkable fashion by dismissing New Zealand captain and legendary batsman, Kane Williamson.
Adding to the Saints connection, Ireland's playing XI also features Curtis Campher (2017).
Our Saints family was further represented by Harry Tector and Reuben Wilson, both of whom spent two months on exchange at St Stithians and remain fondly connected to our community.
We are incredibly proud to see these young men excelling at the highest level of the game.

The Girls’ College community had the joy of welcoming back the Class of 2006 and the Class of 2016 for a special reunion assembly ahead of Founders’ Day last week.
Bringing together past and present students, the gathering was a meaningful celebration of shared memories, lasting connections, and the enduring spirit of the College. With one of the highest turnouts in recent years, the morning was filled with energy, connection, and a deep sense of belonging.
The celebrations continued with a nostalgic visit to the Girls’ Prep, where the two year groups toured the campus, revisiting familiar spaces and reconnecting with the vibrant life of the school, while reflecting on just how much has evolved, and how the Saints sisterhood remains as strong as ever.
The day concluded on a high with a Founders' Day hockey match, followed by the inaugural In Her Footsteps production, a powerful and thought-provoking reflection on shared spaces through a cultural lens.
A truly special day honouring connection, tradition, and community. Because, as always, once a Saint, always a Saint

🎉 OSA New Deputy Chair 🎉

The Old Stithian Association is delighted to announce that Lara Stockigt (Class of 2013) has been elected as the new Deputy Chair of the OSA.

Lara has served on the OSA Committee as a representative of the Girls’ Subcommittee and has led Events for the OSA since 2021. Her dedication and leadership have played a significant role in bringing the Saints community together through memorable events and meaningful alumni engagement.

“I have served on the Old Stithian Committee as a representative of the Girls’ Subcommittee and have been Head of Events for the OSA since 2021. My contributions to this society include successfully running rugby and water polo festival tents for the past five years.
Events are a special and powerful means of bringing people together to celebrate, network, and inspire relationships between alumni and the school at large. They provide exciting opportunities for alumni to reconnect with their Alma Mater and to give back. It is a privilege to help make these opportunities possible and to witness how they unfold.

I am passionate about ensuring that Saints remains home to all those who have passed through this esteemed establishment. “Once a Saint, Always a Saint” is a conviction I hold strongly, and I value the OSA as a space where Stithians can always return. I am proud to be part of the Old Stithian family.”

Congratulations, Lara, on your appointment. We look forward to your continued leadership and contribution to the OSA community.

🎉 OSA Announces New Chairman 🎉

The Old Stithian Association is proud to announce that Asante Nxumalo (Class of 2015) was elected as Chairman of the OSA at Saturday’s Annual General Meeting.

Asante’s passion for the Saints community and commitment to alumni engagement make him an exciting leader for the next chapter of the Association.

“Serving the OSA is deeply personal to me because I believe St Stithians is a truly world-class institution and an island of excellence with the power to make a meaningful difference in South Africa and beyond. I see the Saints community as something that should continue to be protected, strengthened, and grown for future generations.
My vision for the OSA is to foster greater connection, engagement, and belonging amongst alumni across generations and across the world, ensuring that for every Old Stithian, wherever they may be, the OSA remains a true home away from home.
Once a Saint, always a Saint.” 💙❤️🤍

We are also grateful for the work and many hours of service that Israel Skosana has given to the association these past years! Thank you Israel!

Please join us in congratulating Asante on his appointment and wishing him every success as he leads the OSA into the future.

We are deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Old Stithian, Peter "Jumbo" Kuilman (Class of 1976), who was planning to celebrate his 50th Reunion with fellow classmates this weekend.

Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends during this difficult time, especially his son, Nicholas Kuilman (Class of 2006).

As the Saints community gathers to celebrate lifelong friendships and shared memories this Reunion Weekend, we will also take a moment to remember Peter and the impact he had on those who knew him.

One and All, we extend our heartfelt condolences and keep the Kuilman family in our thoughts and prayers.

CELEBRATING OLD STITHIAN KAGISO RABADA'S HISTORIC IPL PURPLE CAP AWARD

Old Stithian and South African pacer Kagiso Rabada finished the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 as the leading wicket-taker, claiming the Purple Cap for the second time in his career.

By winning the Purple Cap, Kagiso has etched his name in the tournament's history by becoming only the fourth bowler to win the Purple Cap award multiple times. He joins an elite list of bowlers who have achieved the feat, including Dwayne Bravo (2013, 2015), Bhuvneshwar Kumar (2016, 2017), and Harshal Patel (2021, 2024).

We congratulate KG on his stellar 2026 IPL season with the Gujarat Titans (GT), taking 29 wickets in 17 matches at an economy rate of 9.68. His consistency with the ball throughout the tournament ensured he topped the charts, replicating his previous Purple Cap win in 2020 while playing for Delhi Capitals, when he had 30 wickets.

We celebrate and congratulate KG on this historic achievement.

FOUNDERS’ DAY 2026 - GUEST SPEAKER ANNOUNCEMENT

We take great pleasure in announcing our guest speaker for Founders’ Day 2026, Dr. Tinashe Chandauka (Old Stithian Head Boy 2007). This year’s theme for Founders’ Day is our annual theme for 2026, Saints Journey One Legacy and Tinashe is the embodiment of both of these two statements, having had a Saints Journey of courage and leadership, living the Saints Honour during his time at St Stithians Boys’ College and creating a lasting legacy by continuing to inspire excellence and make a world of difference long after leaving the College.

We share with you a short biography about Tinashe’s Saints Journey and his Curriculum Vitae of what he has achieved since leaving St Stithians College. We look forward to him sharing his journey and message with us on Saturday 6 June as we gather on Baytopp Field as a community to honour and celebrate the 73rd birthday of the College.
