Executive Cluster Manager: Mining, Bongi Ntsoelengoe, will lead a team of experts in a discussion on Exploiting Critical Minerals for Inclusive Growth and Development and the role of Technology, Innovation, and Skills, at the G20–Africa Critical Minerals Partnership Engagement on 18 November 2025 in Johannesburg.

The panel will focus on the changes in the sector driven by decarbonisation, , the growing demand for critical minerals needed for technologies, as well as the responsibilities and opportunities these present for the industry.

In 2019, Ficksburg established a Local LandCare Committee. Through the Sustainable Partnership with The Free State Department Of Agriculture, Rural Development and Environmental Affairs, the local LandCare Committee has been committed to addressing Degradation of the local Biodiversity by putting structures in place to enable action against Degradation, Climate Change and to advocate for good practices towards the Management of Natural Resources.

With understanding the Free State Province DARDEA vision and focus areas of the National LandCare Programme Which are, Namely;
1. SoilCare
2. Water care
3. VeldCare
4. Conservation Agriculture (CA), and Most Important Focus area
5. Junior LandCare.

Through Setsoto Veldcare Project, Action against Invasive Species and Controlling there off has been operational for the past Five years.

Through the Local Junior LandCare Programme all the above mentioned Focus areas of the National LandCare Programme, Awarenesses are raised and Activations are Developed to Equip and Benefit Children from an Early Development Stage With the Ability of having good practices in regards to the Management of Natural Resources to benefit Future Generations.

Let's be Active, let's take Action and Advocate for the Realization of Restoration and Conservation of our Local Biodiversity for the Benefit of Future Generations.
