Objectives of the organisation:
- To provide a place of safety for 50 children in need of care.
- To meet the basic needs of the children and to provide a service which is in accordance to the rights of children.
- To provide the children in Polokong Children’s Village with therapeutic programs and develop their sport abilities.
- To motivate and propose to potential donors to support the project

financially.
- To train and equip staff and extend the training to volunteers in the Child and Youth Care Department.
- To utilize the services of volunteers to offer programs to the children in order to develop their sense of belonging, mastery, independence and Ubuntu.
- To endeavour to expand services to accommodate children with special needs.
- To train staff to develop to their best abilities in order to render the best possible service to the children.
- To have a functional management committee who will work together in the best interest of the children.
- To render services to the community by giving them access to facilities such as activity rooms and a hall for functions.
- To provide nutritional meals to 300 children from the local community.
- To provide afternoon study classes to a 100 children from the local community.
- To provide life skills groups to a 100 children from the local community.
- To provide counselling service to 30 children from the local community that are affected / infected by HIV / AIDS.

Requirements and Responsibilities
• NPO Project Manager (first level manager) manages a team that coordinates the programs of the NPO.
• Designs and implements programs that support the organisation’s mission, vision & goals;
• To monitor program operations for quality, efficiency and effectiveness;
• To utilise a client relationship or another system to organise information and facilitate outreach communications, perform forecasting and measure the performance of programs;
• To implement fundraising and development strategies to identify potential donors or funding sources and conduct outreach initiatives;
• To collaborate with partners to ensure that special events publicise the organisation and its programs to the community and support its goals;
• To assist in the development of grant applications or proposals;
• Reports to the Director of the NPO;
• To manage subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their job;
• To ensure that the project/departments goals are met;
• Adherence to approved budgets and has full authority of personnel actions
• 3 years and more experience in welfare;
• Manage, supervise, motivate, support and evaluate project coordinators and administrative staff;
• Network with relevant stakeholders;
• Plan, budget and report on progress monthly to the Board and funders;
• Ensure the development and maintain operative database and record keeping system;
• Compile statistics of groups and numbers reached in programme;
• Human resource matters such as staff attendance, staff/volunteer appointments;
• Marketing of organisation;
• Good problem-solving skills;
• Good communication ability;
• Good interpersonal skills;
• Must reside in the Vaal/Sedibeng Area;

• Qualification as a Child and Youth Care Work (certificate);
• 6 years and more experience as a Childcare Worker / Supervisor;
• Must be registered with the National Association of Childcare Workers;
• Valid Driver’s license;
• Must be vaccinated (Covid 19);
• Understanding of the legislation and policies governing Child and Youth Care Centre facilities;
• Knowledge: Developmental and therapeutic programmes;
• Child and Youth Care Work Administrative procedures & formats;
• Knowledge of the rules and procedures of the CYCC;
• Ensure in basic life space work to promote the development and care of children and youth;
• Must be able to take firm action and discipline;
• Staying on the premises is compulsory;
• Must be a “non-smoker” and “non-alcohol” drinker;
• Perform administrative work related to the job;
• Assist with the implementation of planned activities, developmental and therapeutic programmes;
• Computer literate;
• Ability to intervene and resolve conflict;
• Ability to take care of children’s physical, emotional, religious and educational needs;
• Ability to work as part of a team;
• Good problem-solving skills;
• Good communication ability;
• Good interpersonal skills;
• Able to work shifts;
• Able to distinguish between minor and serious illness;
• Follow orders and procedures accurately;
• Must be able to cook and do house chores;
• Literate in English and Sotho / Zulu
