Celebrating Mandela Day with Service and Growth

The Slethukukhanya Foundation, in partnership with the Department of Economic Development who supported us with seedlings, and Ezemvelo KZN Wildlife who donated trees, came together to celebrate with purpose.

Today we created a garden and planted vegetables at Kwa-Mlangeni Home of a Person with Disability in Dumisani Makhaye Village, Ward 24.

A massive thank you to all community members who joined us to honor Madiba’s legacy of 67 minutes of service and beyond.

And a special, heartfelt thanks to Mr Cyril, a local businessman who sells Nhloko, for his generous donation that allowed our stakeholders to share a meal of nhlokos together. Your kindness made the day even warmer.

Together we walked 1KM to raise awareness and give a voice to persons with disabilities. The dialogue that followed focused on inclusion, access to services, and building a community where no one is left behind.

Thank you to all partners and community members who showed up and showed support.

Today at Mphikeleli Hall, OLundi. The Slethukukhanya Foundation was proud to partner with Syezah Food, EDTEA, and other stakeholders for a powerful community engagement.

We spoke to community members about:-

Thank you

The Slethukukhanya Foundation has launched a nationwide donation drive aimed at supporting children with albinism, many of whom face severe health and social challenges due to limited access to protective items and basic necessities.

According to the foundation, public contributions are urgently needed to provide items such as sunscreen lotion, wide-brimmed hats, UV-protection sunglasses, clothing, perishable food, and clean water. These items help shield affected children from harmful sun exposure and improve their overall well-being.

“We encourage individuals and organizations to open their hearts and assist us in saving a child with albinism,” a statement from the foundation said. “Every donation, no matter how small, makes a meaningful difference.”

Supporters can make monetary donations directly to the Slethukukhanya Foundation’s account. Banking details are as follows:
Account Holder: Slethukukhanya Foundation
Account Number: 63184668342

For more information or to coordinate contributions, donors may contact the foundation via mobile at +27 67 273 0192.

The Slethukukhanya Foundation continues to advocate for inclusion, equality, and improved living conditions for persons with albinism across South Africa.
