Every child deserves the chance to play, explore and simply be a child 🛝✨🚲⚽️

Last month, Ines from GET Africa Travel cycled from Spain to Norway with a powerful purpose: raising funds for playgrounds and sports equipment for learners at Mabibi Primary School and another partner Star for Life Africa supported through Get Africa Travel.

For many children, access to play, sport and recreational spaces isn’t guaranteed. Yet these experiences build confidence, encourage teamwork, support healthy development and create lasting memories 🧩🌍✨

Her goal is to raise 20,000 NOK, with every donation going directly towards creating opportunities for children to learn, play and thrive. The funds will be handed over during a visit to the schools (this month) in August.

We’re incredibly grateful to Ines, Get Africa Travel and everyone who has chosen to support this journey. Every kilometre cycled is helping build a brighter future for the next generation ⭐️🚴🏼‍♀️

Meet Angeline Masuku.

For more than five decades, Angeline has dedicated herself to the art of traditional Zulu basket weaving in the Mpembeni community. Taught by her aunt at the age of eight, she has mastered a craft that requires remarkable patience, precision and creativity.

Working with ilala palm and indigenous grasses gathered from the surrounding landscape, she creates baskets that are recognised not only for their beauty, but for the stories and traditions they carry. 🏺✨

At the Isibindi Foundation, we are dedicated to creating and supporting opportunities for local artists, artisans and entrepreneurs to share their talents, preserve cultural heritage and build sustainable livelihoods within their communities.

Every woven pattern represents generations of knowledge, resilience and cultural pride. By supporting artisans like Angeline, we celebrate the rich traditions that make our communities unique while helping ensure these skills continue to thrive for generations to come.🌍

Smangele Mbonambi prepares and serves daily meals to the children of Mabibi Primary School, providing nourishment that helps learners thrive both inside and outside the classroom.

A warm meal can mean improved concentration, better learning outcomes, and the comfort of knowing that someone cares.

At Isibindi Foundation we aspire to provide the support needed in classrooms and communities where the foundations of a sustainable future are being built every day.

New bathrooms for Mabibi school!✏️

At Mabibi Primary School, situated in the heart of the Mabibi community, hundreds of children rely on this school as their only source of education. Through a generous donation from one of our beloved Tour Operators GET Africa Travel, new bathroom facilities have been built to improve access to safe, clean, hygienic facilities for learners and staff.

This project forms part of our long-standing commitment to Mabibi Primary School. Over the years, the Foundation has invested in critical infrastructure, supported the school nutrition programme, provided curriculum assistance and staff training, and funded the salary of a teacher’s assistant.

These bathroom blocks create a healthier and more sanitary learning environment where children can focus more deeply on their education.

Every donation, no matter the size, helps us continue creating meaningful change in the communities surrounding our lodges 🌍
