We form part of the student chapter division under the association for the advancement of black accountants in southern Africa, ABASA. Abasa is a professional organization that was established in 1985 and aims to promote the professional interests of Black persons engaged in the accounting profession. this student chapter branch aims to empower those interested in studying accounting , those who a

ABASA Unizulu hosted a meaningful school outreach programme at an all-girls school KwaDlangezwa High School , creating a space to inspire, empower and encourage the next generation of young women.

The programme featured a female professional and CA(SA) as our guest speaker, who shared her journey and insights to inspire learners to dream boldly and consider the opportunities available within the accounting profession.

As ABASA Unizulu, we remain committed to advancing the aspirations of Black future accountants by creating opportunities that expose, empower and inspire young people to see themselves as future professionals and leaders.

From meaningful conversations to the distribution of stationery packs and connecting with the learners, the day was a reminder that representation, encouragement and access can make a lasting difference. 💙

Here’s to empowering young women today and nurturing the Black accounting professionals of tomorrow. ✨
