Ihawu-lemvelo is a community based organization (CBO) and a non governmental organization (NGO). focusing on the environment, teaching people about the positive impact of taking care of the environment and the negative impact of not taking care of the environment, ihawu-lemvelo is a social movement that says NO!! To the use of coal that have a far reaching impact to the health of the communities a
nd earth. compelling our government to change the old and worst ways of generating electricity that also causes degradation to our globe, depleting our ozone layer that causes global warming, we know life won't exist in earth without the protective shied of the ozone layer, so we say our government must change to renewable resources of energy that will benefits the health of all south Africans and save our globe in return and comply to the section 24 of the constitution of the republic amendment act (A) (B) that stipulates that "everyone has the right to an environment that is not harmful to their health and wellbeing; and to have the environment protected, for the benefits of the present and future generations through reasonable legislative and other measures that (i) prevent pollution and ecological degradation, (ii) promote conservation,and (iii) secure ecologically sustainable development and use of natural resources while promoting justifiable economic and social development" . And recycling of paper is also one of our campaigns because we know trees provide oxygen for us and reduces the carbon dioxide on the atmosphere so by recycling papers millions and millions of trees will be saved from being chopped down. in conclusion ihawu-lemvelo says "UNITED WE STAND DIVIDED WE FALL"
