WE MADE HISTORY AT THE ARTSCAPE 🎭

What a milestone for Safe Cities Theatre!✨

For the first time, Safe Cities Theatre entered the Artscape High School Festival — and what a way to make our mark! Our talented theatre students from Ravensmead High School delivered an outstanding performance, earning 5 nominations across different categories and taking home the award for Best Director, awarded to Leano September, Safe Cities Performance Arts Coordinator!🏆👏

This achievement is more than an award — it represents the power of access, opportunity, training and development through the arts.

Safe Cities Theatre exists to train and develop young people through the performing arts, equipping them with skills, confidence, discipline and creative expression while exposing them to professional platforms and opportunities such as Artscape.

Our students, many coming from disadvantaged communities, receive training in areas including acting, performance, movement, voice, teamwork, discipline, stagecraft and theatre production. Through this journey, we have witnessed growth in confidence, communication, creativity, commitment and overall performance.

This success would not have been possible without the incredible people behind the scenes. A heartfelt thank you to our Safe Cities Theatre facilitators, drivers, chef and management team for your dedication, support and commitment throughout this journey. ❤️

We also acknowledge the parents and guardians whose support makes these opportunities possible, as well as the teacher, Mr phigeland and principal of Ravensmead High School for supporting and encouraging our students.

And to our incredible Safe Cities Theatre students — congratulations! Your hard work, dedication and passion truly showed on that stage. 🌟
