My brother wore a bright red suit to Dad's funeral — I was furious until Dad's attorney saw it and asked where he had gotten it.

My brother, Eric, arrived at Dad's funeral wearing a bright red suit.

Not burgundy.

Not dark red.

Bright red.

Every other man in the chapel wore black or gray, and there was Eric walking past Dad's casket looking like he was headed to some holiday party.

I pulled him aside.

"What the hell are you wearing?"

Eric looked exhausted.

"Not now, Sarah."

"Dad would've hated this."

"No," he said quietly. "He wouldn't."

Before I could ask what he meant, the service started.

Afterward, Dad's attorney, Mr. Lawson, joined us at the cemetery.

He had handled our family's legal affairs for almost thirty years.

The second he saw Eric, he stopped walking.

His eyes dropped straight to the red jacket.

"Where did you get that suit?"

Eric frowned.

"Why?"

"Just answer me."

Eric hesitated.

"It was in Dad's closet."

That made no sense.

I'd cleaned out most of Dad's clothes myself after he died.

There hadn't been any red suit.

"Which closet?" I asked.

"The one downstairs."

I stared at him.

Dad's downstairs study didn't have a closet.

Eric explained that while looking for Dad's military papers, he'd found a narrow hidden door behind one of the bookcases.

Inside were three suits hanging in garment bags.

Two black.

One red.

Pinned to the red suit was a note with Eric's name written on it.

Mr. Lawson's face went pale.

"Did you check the pockets?"

Eric shook his head.

The attorney immediately guided us away from the other mourners.

"Take off the jacket."

Eric blinked.

"What?"

"Eric. Take it off."

Reluctantly, my brother removed the jacket.

Mr. Lawson searched the inside pockets.

Nothing.

Then his fingers stopped near the lining over the chest.

He pressed against it.

Something crackled underneath the fabric.

Eric and I looked at each other.

The attorney turned the jacket inside out.

A section of the lining had been carefully stitched closed by hand.

Mr. Lawson stared at it.

Then he whispered:

"Your father told me I'd know when it was time."

He reached into his briefcase and pulled out a tiny pair of scissors.

My stomach tightened.

"Time for what?"

Good morning fam,
Take a deep breath and pause for a moment. This day is a gentle reminder that no matter how busy life gets, there's always time to rest, reflect, and reset. Let today be about peace in your heart, clarity in your mind, and gratitude in your soul.

May this Sunday bring you new energy for the week ahead, joy in the small moments, and the courage to keep moving forward even if it’s one small step at a time.

You’ve got this. 💪🏽 One day, one breath, one blessing at a time...Ps Sebee
