The Makuwani translation team is currently conducting a five-day workshop under the expert guidance of Dr. Bonifacio Paulo, our Head of Translation Services, and Jadreque Buanaite, our Hub Field Coordinator for Mozambique. The team is thoroughly exploring the intricacies of the Makuwani language.

Accurate translation has the potential to transform lives, and this week represents a significant advancement in fostering community connections. We extend our sincere appreciation to all individuals involved in this important endeavor.

Equipped, empowered, and ready for the next chapter!

Last week, our incredible translation teams in Angola—representing the Oluhanda, Olucilenge,!Xun and Huila languages—gathered for a powerful, hands-on training session.

The teams dived deep into:
💻 Render 3.13 software mastery
📖 Advanced exegesis and Scripture internalization
🎙️ Techniques for making high-quality audio recordings

A massive shoutout and thank you to our amazing partners at Faith Comes By Hearing (FCBH) for facilitating this training! Not only did they share invaluable expertise to sharpen the translation process, but they also gifted the teams 40 Scripture devices pre-loaded with the Book of Genesis.

We are so grateful for FCBH's continued partnership in equipping these teams as they bring God's Word to life in their heart languages to their communities.

As we begin this brand-new week, our hearts are full, and our calendar is packed with vital training sessions across Southern Africa. We serve a God who speaks every language, and we are on a mission to ensure His people can hear Him clearly.

Please join us in praying for:
1. Makuwani Translation Team Training: Pray for the team as they begin their training today.
- Ask for clarity, sharp minds, and strong community bonds as they equip themselves for the vital work ahead.
2. Final Week of Hebrew Training (Mozambique): This is the 3rd and final week! Please pray for endurance, retention, and spiritual refreshment for the translation students from the Marrevoni, Koti, CD cluster, Phimbi, and Marenje communities, as well as 2 students from Angola, our dedicated IT Technician, and the CIT (Consultant-in-Training).
- Let's pray they finish strong!
3. Holo & Kisuku Workshops: Today marks day one of a crucial two-week workshop running from June 22 to July 3. Pray for the Holo and Kisuku translation teams as they dive deep into the text. Pray against technical glitches, physical fatigue, and spiritual warfare.

Let’s fill the comment section with prayers and words of encouragement for these faithful translators!

Helen van der Walt, our Scripture Engagement Coordinator and Ethnodoxology expert, explains the powerful link between community-checked translations and thriving Scripture engagement!

In this video, Helen outlines the direct correlation between a rigorous community checking process and successful, long-term Scripture engagement. By engaging local speakers and incorporating ethnodoxology principles, translation teams can ensure that the final text is culturally appropriate, naturally understood, and readily embraced by the faith community.
